how much to spend

this is a hard question...are they paying for the wedding? or contributing a lot to the wedding?

we are going to get my paretns a gift bec they are throwing us an e-party...we were thinking a GC to the polo lounge at the garden city hotel...its supposed to be amazing...

as for the wedding gifts...im not sure...i would love to get them something big...like a mini trip..but im not sure where we will be (budget wise)...

for me and my family we always do gifts forr everything....my paretns arent paying (but they will be helping with some things) so i want to get them somehting special...

im sure this was of no help lol

I upgraded my mom's album to a clone album, that was all she could want and considers that the best gift (although originally the get a parent album).

I don't even know. our parents are hosting the wedding, so we want to get them something good. but we have no idea what or how much to spend.

what do you want to get them?

My parents are paying for the reception which is such a huge part of the wedding, so I want to buy them a vacation somewhere. Optimally, I want to get them a trip to Aruba, where they went on their honeymoon, so it's like a second honeymoon. Plus, they are my parents and have always been there for me. I will probably spend 1-2K on them

FIL's on the other hand.... They are not helping with the wedding at all and have made that very clear, so we will not be spending a lot on them.

I think it depends on how much they are helping you and just your overall relationship with them! HTH

yeah my parents are paying for like everything.. i didnt know you were supposed to get them gifts either until recently..

i just bought my mom a nice day of ring to go with her dress.. and will prob buy my dad a nice pair of cuff links he said he's been wanting.. then i was gonna do a spa day for the two of em.. prob run about $1500.. they are spending ALOT! so i dun feel like thats even good enough.. although im sure its more than enough..

If they are paying for everything....I would probably send them on a cruise or something. Ofcourse that depends on whether you have the cash to do this. I'm pretty sure though, that your parents aren't expecting anything so do what you can.

Our parents are not paying for the wedding. But did cover the shower, my dress (mine) and rehearsal (his).

We are spending $300 on each set of parents. I will also pay for my mom's hair and makeup.

I am getting my parents pictures of my sisters,brother an I and then all of us with our husbands/future husbands. They have nothing of us all grown up!

FH parents were are getting them a picture of their wedding painted.

We didn't get parents gift....nor did they expect anything from us.. they knew all our $$ was going to the wedding.
I am going to make my mom & his mom albums and order them a few of their favorite pics from our proofs..
