How much to spend on wedding ring

I know I definitely want a half circle diamond eternity ring (2 to 3 mm) but I don't want to spend more than 3,000....and its gotta be good quality, colorless diamonds.

Is that realistic?? too much?? too little??

depends on what you like.

I have heard people spending anywhere from 1K to 3K...
mine was between 2 and 3K

you have to shop around and see what you like and see if that is realistic for your budget. FH and I set each of our wedding band budgets at $1500. When we went to the jeweler I was dead set on an enternity band but found out very quickly it just wasn't in the budget (plus once I had it on I didn't really care for it as much as I thought). The he should me this band that was in our budget and instantly fell in love and that is the band that we got for me! Pics in album.

I went to the same jeweler FH purchased my e-ring.... Louis Martin Jewelers in Rockafeller centre. It's right across the street fron Radio City on W 50th.

I think this is totally realistic but if you plan on going to an independent jeweler, I would see if you can save $$$ by paying in full right away or paying in cash. We ended up saving $300 by paying in full so it helps somewhat.

My ring is 1.5 mm platinum band halfway-around round/brilliant diamonds t.w. about .5 ct and was I think around $1300 at Ross & Simons Jewelers which is a national chain. I absolutely love it. I got the 1/2 around diamonds because I wanted to be able to engrave it, which I did.

I had looked at an eternity and it was going to be around $1700.

I ended up with a half eternity for $500 from the same jeweler.

I would recommend my jeweler in Northport if you want...we got all our jewelry there for a great price.

A half eternity band is also stronger- I was afraid that I would grab something and diamonds would pop out if I wore an eternity band as my wedding band. I felt safer having solid metal on the inside

maybe if you go where FH bought your e-ring they will give you a good price, thats what we did.

I think bluenile.com has good prices too.

i have a U setting too, and absolutely love how it shows the profile of all the diamonds. here's a pic. Just be careful because since there is less metal holding the diamonds in, it's more delicate.
