Re: How much was your...
I'm queen of hair trials here goes (prices for hair and makeup)
first: 50 bucks no tip, I hated it, was too shy to speak up
second: 75 bucks 10 tip each, at the time I was like okay lets see how I feel about this when I come home... and it was just blah when I cam home
third: 125 5 tip each THREE F-ing hours of oh yeah that style is great, oh yeah we can do it, oh ... and then ... um no you can't do that with your hair. Gave her a 5 tip for trying so hard. It took her like an hour and half to blow out my hair and it usually takes me 20 minutes to do it perfectly. The makeup artist was fun, like a drill sargent, but she ******.
fourth: $170 will go this Sunday
I'm starting to see a pattern, I bet the fifth hairdresser is salivating at the $$$
by the way anyone use or hear of CoCoBelle?

My makeup artist is great, and I think she does the first trial free! Her name is Angelique Velez ( I have pics in my album), and her number is 631-252-8754. If you need any more info, fm me. Good luck!

Re: How much was your...
I think it was $60... can't remember though. $150 day of the wedding though for airbrush.
The first trial was $50, and I HATED it, but I felt bad, and tipped her $15 - she didn't deserve a penny considering she showed up late, and didn't do anything!! The second one was free, and the m/u artist wouldn't accept a tip. The third one was $65, and I tipped $15. The fourth one was $75 for a hair and m/u trial, but if you booked her, it was deducted from the day of fee (I did book her). I tipped $20. Fifth trial was $55, I tipped $10 (at this point I was broke).

Re: How much was your...
mine was $85...but worth every single penny... i went to two others that were less then half of that, but imo were a waste because i was so unhappy with them! M ia from the b r i da l lo un ge did my $85 trial and she literally spent HOURS with me untill we achieved the look i wanted. i was so happy, she made me feel so comfortable, and she adjusted the look a million times untill i was happy(which the other artists didn't do)...when i left it was EXACTLY how i was going to look on my wedding day(and it really was!) she's just so talented & is worth EVERY penny...good luck!

Did you tip M I A? What's the rule on tipping people who own their own business? You don't have to, right? I don't think I tipped M I A for my trial, and I need to know if I should tip her for the wedding day! I shoudl definitely tip the assistants she brings, right?
Ah, etiquette...

Re: How much was your...
I found someone that hopefully will work out, even though I haven't done my trial yet (I have seen her work and is great, and she is also located very close by to the RH and my hotel) - she charges $50 for a trial for makeup and $150 for airbrush day of (and I think $80 for bridesmaids and MOB). She is going to help me find someone for hair too that she knows she works well with.

Did u go to the salon for ur trial?? i know she's been doing that lately - if so then yes i'd say u should have...but tipping is also a very personal thing - so it totally depends on ur whole experience so i dont think u're 'wrong' either way.. at the time, M i a came to me, so originally i wasn't planning on tipping for my trial because i knew the money was going right into her pocket...but then i realize 'wait..she came to me'...and she was so fantastic that i had too...i gave her a HUGE tip because she did a phenomenal job & spent hours with me. I also gave her a really nice tip the day of the wedding too.. now that i do makeup jobs as well, i of course realize how nice it is to be tipped..and i'm truly appreciative of it..so when someone does a great job, i always do
