How much wiggle room does having your wedding

Original post by JessicaM.

'off-peak' in month and day.

My wedding is on a Sundy night in April...not yet wedding season and definitely a less popular day and time. how much can I stress this when negotiating with vendors?

TIA!

I am paying $60 less per head for a Saturday night wedding in March as opposed to a Saturday night wedding in 'peak' season.

I got a little off for my band, but not much.

Are you serious?! I would much rather have gotten married on a Sat. night in March than a Fri. night in June...oh well!

Yes, I'm serious. I couldn't believe it myself. We kind of had an in when we booked...FM if you want the details....

Believe me, we toyed with the idea of a June wedding, b/c the grounds at Bethpage are so beautiful and are not going to be looking so good in March...but we didn't want to wait that long to get married, and could not justify spending the money on 'peak season'

i booked at Jericho Terrace, and the discounts for off season and strange days were already in the prices (which were fantastic to begin with). Daytime was less, Sunday was the cheapest, then Sat, then Fri night was most expensive.

Weddings are becoming more 'year round' than ever before. and believe it or not, Fall weddings are becoming more popular than Spring weddings. 70% of weddings occur April through October. The 'off months' are November, December, January, February and March. If you are willing to do an off month, your hall should be willing to give you a discount.
