How much will your wedding cost in total?

My parents originally gave us $22k because they had read that is what an average wedding would cost and if we went over, we would pay it.

Well, they ended up paying $28k. DH and I paid them about $2k (that is what they decided on).

And we paid for our honeymoon ourselves, but from money that my grandmother left me and that was $5k.

All total, $33k was spent.

Does this include the RD? B/c we paid for most of that too....oh well, its only money, right?

not bad my Reception cost almost $40K(my parents paid)

Photographer/videographer - almost 6k (FMIL paid)

DJ - 2500(we paid)
FLorist 3K(we paid)
Limos 1600(we paid)
Church 450(we paid)
Honeymoon 6k(we paid) doesn't include food and any excurions(figuring anther 5-6K)

All the extra things like favors and bp gifts 5K (we paid)

RD don't even know yet but FMIL is paying.

i would say almost 70000..

now that I look at it that way we should have eloped and bought a house....

put this is what I get for a big italian wedding almost 300 people invited.. and that is immediate family and closest friends...

Not including HM 7K.

Nothing extravagant...but It's our wedding and it will be beautiful.
I made my own flowers and decorations.
Food is 2K -we are having chicken, hog, 7 layer salad, rolls, baked beans and macaroni salad. For beverage we are doing-pop, wine and beer (keg style! (4kegs to be exact)).
My uncle is a member of the hall board so we got 50% off of that. (He put it all in his name for the night)
My brothers-girlfriends-sister..haha...is our photographer-she is a professional and does it all the time and we got her for 1k!! That even includes photos. (2-8 by 10's, 4-5 by 7's and 300-4 by 6's) We can order more if we would like.

Anyway...hopefully you don't think I'm trashy now that you know how much we are spending.

After everything is said and done, includint our HM and the expenses and spending money we will use on our HM, somewhere in the 32,000 range. Makes you wanna gag, huh?
But its all worth it in the end! I 've never been to Europe before so at least I'll have some exposure to a different culture, come back more refined and stuff.
