My fiance, sister and I were invited to an out of the country wedding (We are not going) for a family friend who I havent seen in years and we were only close when we were young.
How much would you give us a gift from the 3 of us?
I was thinking $150???

How much would you give.....
Well I have gotten $100 checks from 2 couples that aren't able to attend my wedding... One couple are friends of my parents, who I hadn't seen in YEARS. I'd say $150 would be good for the 3 of you.

I agree...anything is good if you aren't even attending. If you feel weird with giving money, maybe try to buy something else on her registry list.

I would try to do this first, something from the registry might be nice and you can give something that seems bigger from the 3 of you instead of just sending a check. If she doesn't have one then whatever amount you can afford is fine since you won't even be attending.

I think $150 is very generous. I would be happy with any gift I got from people who aren't coming. I'm not expecting money from No's so I think its a nice gesture :)

Thanks everyone! She lives in another country so a registry gift isnt really an option because I think shipping would be insane LOL

I think $150 is great! Most people who can't attend weddings don't even send a card anymore. I'd be excited if I received that from a 'no' response!

My cousin didn't go to my brothers wedding and sent him a $10 walmart giftcard from him and his wife. I think $150 is very generous.
