I don't that cost is extremely high, however I'd try to be sensitive to your BM's individual situations. If one gal spoke up she might be feeling that she just can't afford it with the other expenses that come along with being a BM.
I am hoping to keep their dresses as inexpensive as possible, definitely under 200. Both my gals had babies last year and the economy is not good, I want them to spend as little out of pocket as possible.

I am hoping to keep it under $200 and would be mad if I was forced into a BM dress that cost way more than that. It's a big expense, and honor, to be in someone's wedding party. All of my BP are OOT, except one. The one local BM is broke all the time, and while I love her, I know that she is going to be the issue when it comes down to money. Stinks.

I am hoping to be under 200, but I am not going shopping until fall.

PS for my brothers wedding our dresses were about $350 in the end after alterations.... so I had to find a way to wear it again...
So I was Miss America for halloween for my kids at dance the following Oct. I bought a tiara & sash & looked fabulous! They loved it
I don't want my girls to spend more than 200 but if we find a dress we HAVE to have and it's under 250, then the girls are open to getting it.

Crashing -- Definitely call around to other salons! I got a Jim Hjelm bridesmaid dress that my salon was asking $225 for. I called Burton's and they quoted me $185. My salon ended up matching the Burton's price. Definitely worth giving them a shot if you love that dress.
