I just received an invitation to the bar mitzah for my cousin. My aunt, uncle and cousin were all at my wedding just 6 weeks ago. Well, on the invite they mispelled my name -- not just a mistaken letter or a typo, but really butchered it like they never had to spell my name before! I am obviously related to them, they were just at my wedding where they saw my first name who knows how many times, and uhhhhhh did I mention they are my relatives and they should sort of know my name???????

That's annoying!!! I had my bridal shower this weekend and my name was spelled wrong on same on the cards. I don't get it couldn't they have looked at the invitation to see if it was spelled right. Not to mention they all got my invitation (i hope!).

Don't sweat it. My friend of 10 years misspelled my last name on his wedding invitation for me. It was misspelled on the placecards too!

I guess there could be reasons it was misspelled but I agree it's annoying.
I had something similar happen with some of FH's relatives. They got an invite to the e-party with my name on it, a thank you for the e-party gift with my name on it, an xmas card with my name on it, and an STD with my name on it. They sent us an invite with FH's full name and just my first name-spelled wrong. I was like ***?!?!

I have good friends that still spell my name with 2 L's when it's one. My last name? Forget about it. Never can even FH spell it right!

I can totally relate. Trust me...my friends/family/colleagues have been spelling my name wrong for years. You never really get over it, but I'd just let it slide.
