DH and I are slobs. We keep trying to come up with a plan, but it never seems to work. Whenever I do a full cleaning, like once a month, I manage to maintain it and keep things clean daily for like a week. Then it goes another 2 weeks before I have the patience or desire to bother again. And by that time, the house is such a mess that it's overwhelming and it takes me another week to motivate. I know, kind of gross, but I can't help it. DH agreed to let me get a cleaning lady every other week. I figure I will straighten before she comes. Then I can maintain the clean for like a week, then it will start getting messy and I'll have to straighten up before she comes again. I thin it could work!

yay! another slob not afraid to post! I actually like to clean, but I always make such a production out of it that it becomes impossible to complete anything so I can kind of gave up & just do the gross things like the toilet & take out the trash.
Dh washes the dishes.
I am hoping to turn over a new leaf in my new palce! I've done it before I can do it again!

And I prefer scrubbign to straigthening, but if you don't straighten its hard to scrub!


I am looking forward to cleaning my new place before we move in!

We have an infamously messy apartment! I try (mostly unsucessfully) to tidy daily, and to clean every other week. Of course, this NEVER works.

Lately, my new strategy has been to invite people over so that we will HAVE to clean. We just have to convince them that it won't be the usual pigsty when they get here...

I find myself straightening up everyday and since we just moved in, I actually seem to enjoy cleaning . I never thought I would love a NEW vacuum as much as I do while I'm using it. I'm sure this phase won't last too long!

Daily maintenance and thorough cleaning once a week.

Heavy Duty cleaning every week and daily upkeep.

every other saturday for thorough cleaning like mopping, vacuuming, bathrooms, etc.

Kitchen, every night

Dusting: once a week mostly but if needed, i'll do it twice.

vacuum 1 x per week because of dog hair...sometimes more

dust...1x a week, maybe two weeks if it's not nasty

bathroom...1x a week, DH is a messy tooth brusher

laundry 1 colored and 1 white load a week, unless I'm not up to it, then it goes to 2 colors.....*sigh*

we still haven't come up with a plan to keep it all neat and clean looking, so we have papers, magazines, and stuff laying around...I don't have enough places to PUT stuff away in.

Same here. I do straighten up every day, do the dishes (I never let dishes pile up) and clean up. But I have to get on the ball with the vacuuming and dusting.
Im in an apt. now and soon moving to a 4 BR house!! I REALLY need to get motivated.

I'm generally neat by nature, but dh is so messy. throws his laundry wherever, leaves dishes in the den, papers everywhere, clothing wherever, you get the picture. drives me nuts. so i like to straighten up, but i'm tired of straightening up his stuff too when he is a big boy and can do it. but i have to say, he does do dishes and will clean up with a frenzy when he can't take it anymore. but i try to do basic cleaning every week, but more thorough like including cleaning the stove, microwave, frig, windows is maybe an every month thing. i don't have time and when i do, it's the last thing i feel like doing.

We are the odd couple! Want to guess who is Felix Unger and Oscar Madison?

I'm Oscar and DH is Felix so needless to say our home is very tidy thanks to him! But it does cause some friction because he is so anal about everything. I just let him do his thing and stay out of his way.

I clean everyday little by little when I get home from work, that way I don't have to do anything over the weekend.
