How often do you fully clean your house?

I'm completely anal and compulsive so whether I have no time or all the time in the world I always need my surroundings to be really neat. So everyday I do clean kitchen floor and bathroom to an extent, which takes less that 10-15 minutes. Obviously everyday make the bed, and make sure LR is completely clean.

Every weekend though I fully clean, like clorox things, vaccuum and just thoroughly clean every corner. It's really not that much work. My FI and I do it together and it takes less than an hour. We do it quickly before we go out and do something that day. Thank god we both are neat freaks otherwise I wouldn't function.

As I'm writing this I sound pretty nuts

This doesn't sound nuts. I am like you but sometimes I think I am too anal about cleaning. I have cut down but then I look around and feel like I should clean. Just wondering what others do. DH wouldn't help scrub every week though. He helps maybe 1x a month.

I do a light cleaning just about every day...but a FULL cleaning every two weeks...scrub floors, vaccuum, windows, dusting, clean showers and bathtubs, toilet, etc.

I will clean thoroughly as needed though...like if my floors get really dirty or something like that.

I love to clean.

I do a MAJOR cleaning of moving the furniture- cleaning underneath, throwing crap out- about 3 times a year.

Vacuum once a week

Dust once a week.

Bathroom once a week and as needed.

Cleaning lady every other week

Cleaning was a sore spot between me and DH so this has made a world of difference for us. I no longer feel like a nagging mother and I actually get to enjoy my days off.

This is me too. I just don't have the time to do anything more often. And if a task doesn't get done, then I don't worry about it. It'll get done eventually.

As long as there are no dishes in the sink, I can manage.

I am having trouble cleaning on a regular basis becaouse of my job and commute. I need to get a job on Long Island.

I worked all weekend again, so I haven't had a day off in over two weeks!!!!

Wow...an hour for the whole house? You're lucky. My house takes 3-4 hours to clean the whole thing!

Nanny / CLEANING LADY EVERY DAY
and then when I come home i have to put away the same stuff she did cause the kids keep taking either toys books or other stuff out. But I always end up with that paper pile in the corner of bills and junk mail that never seems to make it to the garbage for somereason. Its that piece of paper that you keep telling yourself you need

i try to do it every Sat and Sun, but it never looks like I dent it. DH is a slob point blank

I only have a condo and usually try to clean the bathrooms once a week. I usually sweep the floors or vacuum once a week as well..I kind of try to do a little at a time, so it doesn't get out of control...like dusting..everything gets so friggin dusty..

I'm still trying to find a routine for myself..

DH and I are slobs. We keep trying to come up with a plan, but it never seems to work. Whenever I do a full cleaning, like once a month, I manage to maintain it and keep things clean daily for like a week. Then it goes another 2 weeks before I have the patience or desire to bother again. And by that time, the house is such a mess that it's overwhelming and it takes me another week to motivate. I know, kind of gross, but I can't help it. DH agreed to let me get a cleaning lady every other week. I figure I will straighten before she comes. Then I can maintain the clean for like a week, then it will start getting messy and I'll have to straighten up before she comes again. I thin it could work!

DH never makes the bed either cause he leaves after me. I like the bed made so I make it when I get home at 2pm.
