I can't remember the last time I went grocery shopping....but FH goes once a week, usually on Sundays

and its about 40 minutes from my house (but that's because he does it when he visits his parents) He takes his dad with him - his mother doesn't do groceries either

Every two weeks. We stock up and freeze a lot. ETA: it's right up the block, so no hard commute!

Now the question is, how much are your monthly grocery bills? I spent close to $400-500 each month, and that doesn't include Costco stuff! And yes, I use coupons like crazy!

I go once a week on Sunday nights. It is right around the corner from my house. I sometimes go more than once a week but it is usually to pick up one or two things that I'm craving at that moment!

I go once a week usually on Sundays. I need to go weekly to pick up fruit veggies and oj. When I lived alone I would go less often...
We usually spend about $50 each time

me too.. why are you guys going like everyday!!!

I stink at meal planning - 9 times out of 10 once something hits my freezer, it never makes it to a dinner plate. I used to pass a supermarket on my way home from work and would stop in and pick up what ever I was in the mood for that day. I miss that, I spent so much less on groceries and everything was always super fresh.

Now, we do big shopping once every 4-6 weeks and every other week we pick up incidentals we ran out of.

Our supermarket is 15 minutes away.

It was actually easier for me when I was single since I could have what I wanted and not think about what DH wants We are trying to get better though

Christine LOL...I wish it was that easy. On his 2 days off its usually just picking or pasta. On his work days he leaves at 2pm so by the time dinner rolls around for me I just pick. I hate cooking a big meal for myself so it's to the supermarket to decide what I want

i go about once a week, or once every two weeks. i hit the butcher about 2x a week to get fresh stuff to make - cutlets, roast, etc.

I try to go only once every 2 weeks, but usually end up going once a week. It's about 5 minutes from home, but I usually just go on the way home from work, on Thurs or Fri.

I miss being able to go to the supermarket everyday. I loved when I could walk home for work and go to the fish or veggie markets and pick up what I need fresh. When I lived in the city and Queens I used to go 5-6 times a week to some food store.

Now living in LI, I usually go once a week and try to plan my meals for the week. I don't drive and the supermarket isn't walking distance so I have to rely on DH to take me...stinks but hopefully soon I can change this...It is a difficult adjustment to me because I like to decide what I want for dinner that day - I am such a cravings person.

I don't understand how you can go once a month? I mean I am always stocked up on rice, canned goods and stuff like that but what about the fresh veggies, fruit, and similar? That is the stuff I need to go for at least once a week or they don't last...

We go once a week, and normally I go on Sunday mornings. Depending on what else we need that week, it's basically just for lunch essentials, fruits and milk. I spend anywhere from $40-70 per week, and I buy most things on sale.

I pass Key Food on the way home from the express bus every night, so I stop in a few times a week to get dinner stuff, or milk.

We usually don’t do “big” shopping more than once or twice a month.
