How Old

How Old does your something Old have to be?

I was thinking that as long as its older than me, its ok.

What does everyone else think? Or is there an actual rule here?

Yea I think it means something you have had for a while. I know my FSIL wore earrings from her sweet 16 and another friend wore a cross from her communion

Thanks girls...I was planning on pinning my baptism cross under my dress...but my mother told me that it wasn't old enough....but I think 27 yrs old is plenty old.

I definitely don't think it has to be something older than you! just something you consider old. maybe you got it 2 years ago or 10, whatever works for you! there is no wedding police who will catch you on this!

So did I...so my e-ring was my 'something old'.

IMO, a few years old is fine.

You're right - I've never heard any limitations on how old something has to be. I don't even think it has to be older than you. I carried a hankerchief that was given to my mom for me when I was a baby. The poem that came with it even said I should carry it with me on my wedding day.
