How old is too young?

How old is too young?

Tonight FH and I asked his cousin if his son could be our ring bearer. He is soo adorable and right now he is 2. So by the wedding he will be three....i am not really around little kids that much, so is that a good age? are most kids comfortable walking down the aisle/being the center of attention at that age? i know all kids are different but if u have any opinions based on your own experiences i would be happy to hear them!
btw- i think our FG will be about 5....

3 is fine! We are having FH godson who is only 1 right now. I have seen kids in strollers also. Its really whatever you want

i am having 3 FG, at the time of the wedding they are going to be...

1 1/2 (dont know if she will walk down or be carried yet)

I think 3 should be ok. ive seen 4 year olds do fine at weddings. the way i figure, as long as they can walk, they can make it down the aisle, lol. even a 7 year old can get shy and refuse to walk down the aisle so it can be hit and miss with that and is really up to the individual kid.

any age is fine
but every kid is different

if your opinion of a perfect ceremony is no crying, no laughing, very serious then a 3 year is not the way to go.

if you dont mind surprises it will be absolutely fine. cute and possibly funny. some 3 year olds are like tiny 6 year olds while others are like a 1 year old.

He may scream, say silly things, run away, cry. He may need to be carried down the aisle. May kick and scream the whole way down. But not because he is three. Kid behavior in different -anxious- situations can happen with any kid under the age of 10 in my experience.

If you guys know him well, see him often, prep him with kid books and magazines on weddings and princesses and show him pictures of weddings, and tell him what he will be doing and definitely try to get a rehearsal with kids (some RH-if thats where your ceremony is do not really have rehearsals) make it sound really exciting with him- do not just go threw his parents for the planning.

also the 5 year old Fg may be better behaved becuz she may have a better understanding of it and may kknow more what weddings are and walking down an aisle like a bride - she can walk with 3 year old and help him out.

Right now I have one that is 6 mos, so he will be a little over a year at the wedding, and I actually have one on the way due Aug 1st, so I think I will have him walked down in a decorated stroller

i AGREE!

Hope and Carlton were in my brother's wedding in 2003- so they were about 5 and 3 - and they did a GREAT job. Hope was so proud of herself.

Carlton decided at the last minute he didnt want to walk down the aisle - he would ONLY go with my dad. . . so we have great pictures of my dad holding the pillow AND carlton - my dad made a great RB if you need one. . . it was a great moment and everyone loved it

the RB at my cousin Tina's wedding was about 5 also - he walked down the aisle with his bottle 'hidden' behind his back. . . you should have heard everyone's reaction as he passed and they realized what he was holding - hysterical!

I say go for it!

I think 3 is a good age.....I will have a 3,4,5and 6 yr old in my wedding....and right now I am more worried about the 4 yr old...lol

Our Ringboy will be 2 years and 9 months. And our Flowergirl turns 3 a few weeks before the wedding.

it doesnt matter to me

im having 3 Fg and 3 RB so no little kids are left out

1 FG will be almost 2 and the other one will be almost 3 and im getting a radio flyer wagon and decorating it and they will sit in it and the JR bridesmaid will wheel it down..im so excited for this and i think its going to be too cute

my FG will be 3 right before my wedding and i couldnt be happier bc she is my niece and id rather have my niece take 2 steps and run amuck then a trained 7 year old just bc they are older!
