We already have 6 Bridesmaids and 5 Groomsmen, but I wanted to add our cousin's to the bridal party...Two of his cousins will be 17 & 18, are they too old to be Jr. bridesmaids....The other jr. bridesmaids will be 14(2), 12, & 10. I didn't want to make them bridesmaids because then I will have too many girls and the other girls would be in their late 20's, so their would be a big gap. FH's mother suggested having them hand out programs, but I think they would be angry that their sisters are in the bridal party and they're not. Any suggestions?

I think they are too old to be junior bridesmaids, but if I were you, I would just add them in as bridesmaids. Another two girls isn't going to make or brake anything.

I definitely think that they are too old to be Junior Bridesmaids. I would just make them your Bridesmaids.....they would be in the wedding party any ways, so two more on your side isn't going to be such a big deal. It's a tough call. Good luck in your decision and keep us updated

I think junior bridesmaids should be between ages 8 and 16. Anything older should be a regular BM

I agree- too old to be JR bm's. If I were 17.18 I wouldnt like that title at at...and basically it all correlates to the title... they will still be wearing the same dresses (i assume) and are old enough to take part in the pre wedding festivities, so whether they are jr or reg bm doesnt seem to make a difference, besides the title... JMO

i voted too old to be consided 'jr.' bm's. i would just consider that a bm, but in a way, to young to contribute to the shower and to participate in the bachelorette party. they are probably both in school and if they work, i'm sure its only part-time and they are probably not making more then minimum wage. if you want them involed in teh wedding, they can hand out programs or the rose petals. jmo

My neices will be 12 and 14. My brother asked me to call them bridesmaids to make them feel a little more mature and also since they walked him down the aisle at his second wedding. It made no difference to me. They will walk down the aisle on either side of my 13 year old nephew (from my sister).

I would make them BMs. I think they're too old to be jrBMs. My jrBM is going to be 9. My youngest BM is going to be 15, I couldn't see making her a jrBM, she's too mature for that. Altho my other BMs are all in their low 20s so it's not that big of a gap. I just couldn't see a 17/18 y/o as a jrBM. JMO!

I think thats a little old....I would say anywhere Btwn 8 to 15/16 is about right for Jr. Bridesmaids ....

I think they are too old to be jrBMs. We had this discussion about my 12 year old cousin (she will be 14 at the wedding). She's taller than me and looks like she's 17. We just thought she looked too old to be a jrBM.

I had the same problem with 2 cousins. Only mine were 11 and 13 so I made them Jr's. If you already told them that they are in the wedding add them as BM but if not have them hand out programs and flowers or bubbles, rice, whatever. Good Luck!
