How safe is it?

Can a woman go on a beach vacation and spend all day in the sun during her first trimester?

NOT BEING A DR BUT HAVING A BABY... I would say you shouldnt lay in the sun and bake yourself because you can raise your body temp and make it more of an oven for your little one... but when I was 2 months prego I went to Grand Cayman and my doc said it was ok just not to lay in the sun.

all day in the sun. absolutely not. especially if its florida sun (or somewhere really really hot).

Hi Christine! I was going to wait until I've been to the doctor and it's 'official', but yes, according to 2 home tests, I'm pregnant!
I'm supposed to be leaving on a beach vacation in a few days so now I have to rearrange plans and find someplaqce else to go asap!!!
We didn't think it would happen so fast!

Hmmm, I'm such a beach bum, I'm thinking we might be better off going someplace with more things to do so I won't be tempted!

Congratulations... Check with the dr because I've heard that in moderation, the sun is great for the fetus because it stimulates vitamins in the moms body (A, etc..) correct me if I'm wrong...

THIS IS SOOOOO WONDERFUL!!!!! I'm so excited for you!!!! Have you seen the dr yet?

As for a suggestion ... its hard. What if you stayed under an umbrella, took lots of dips in the pool & tried hard to stay out of the direct sunlight ... no sunburns! Limit your time by the pool ... I'm sure you'd be fine! Women in Fla do have babies, right?!

Just be careful!

PS .... are you coming tonght? I can't wait to give you a big hug in person!!!!

They sure do Christine...comming from a prego in Florida. I've been to the beach a couple of times but I wouldn't go all day and I'd just made sure to pack a cooler with lots of botteled water and kept myself cool by spending plenty of time in the water as well.
If your there mid day when the sun is at its hottest it's probably a good idea to head to a cool place for lunch.
