FH's friend called on Saturday night sounding exasperated. His wedding is this Saturday in Vegas. Turns out they've had 8 cancellations in the past week alone, including his BEST MAN. He called to ask FH to fill in the spot, which he is gladly doing.
I felt really bad for him, because this guy has been miserable until he started dating his FW. Granted, he still has a BM, but they are still getting cancellations.
It's also in an actual hall in Vegas, not some drive thru cheap wedding.

That stinks! I hope all the other people he thought were important are still going! That's really cool or you and your FH to be able to go and show your support!

That is totally screwed up. I guess he won't be talking to his former Best Man anymore. So nice of your FH to step in for him. Were you guys attending the wedding to begin with or this a last-minute trip now?

That is HORRIBLE! Did the best man have a good excuse? The only one I can think of that is valid is either health problems or family emergency. Otherwise he has no right to do that this late in the game. It's so nice that your FH is stepping in to take the place of the BM.

We had plans to go already and FH owns a tux, so all he had to do was get the vest and tie that the GM are wearing.

That is so sad. I hope the former BM had a good reason for cancelling. Your FH is a great guy for filling in for him. Kudos to him.

Did he give a reason for cancelling? Like a notice that the world was coming to an end and he needed to pack? Or he is moving to Mars and forgot to buy a space suit? WHAT is wrong with people??

you think you could get your FH to speak to the former best man? cuz so many cancellations seems .. eerie. maybe they're playing some horrible joke on the couple. in any case, it's very nice of your FH to accept. vegas is great. it'll be a lot of fun.

I think you and Andrew are so perfect for each other. You both demonstrate so much generosity towards other people out of the kindness of your hearts. Good for Andrew to be a mensch and good for you for understanding.
