How should I ask my BFF to be my MOH?

I need some ideas on asking my best friend to be my maid of honor.
I know a lot of girls do those cookies, but anything besides that?
I'd prefer cheap, as I am really broke right now, but I was thinking something cute and sentimental... maybe even some sayings I could put in a card... so please please submit your ideas and sayings and your MOH proposals here lol... give me ideas!!!
