HOW SHOULD I REACT

MY BEST FRIEND DECIDED TO GET MARRIED ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO. HER AND HER FIANCE WREE ENGAGED FOR 4 YEARS NOW AND HAVE DECIDED TO GET MARRIED A MILLION TIMES BACK AND FORTH. ALL THE GIRLS IN THE BRIDAL PARTY AND MYSELF ALL THOUGHT THAT THIS TIME SHE WOULD ACTUALLY STICK WITH HER DECISION. EVERYTIME THEY CALL OFF THE WEDDING ITS BECAUSE OF SOME STUPID FIGHT THAT THEY HAVE. BACK IN MAY I ORDERED MY DRESS AND SHE HAD US GET SPECIFIC SHOES AND I JUST ORDERED THEM AND A MATTER IF FACT HAVE TO PICK THEM UP. WELL I GET A PHONE CALL THAT THEY CALLED OFF THE WEDDING. ALL THE VENDORS THEY CANCLED TODAY. KNOW DONT GET ME WRONG I FEEL SO BAD FOR HER AND EVERYTHING THAT SHE HAS GONE THROUGH B/C HER FIANCE IS SOMEWHAT OF AND A$$HOLE, BUT THIS HAS GONE BACK AND FORTH FOR YEARS AND NOW THIS. ALL THE GIRLS ARE SO UPSET ABOUT ALL THE MONEY THEY SPENT. DO I HAVE A RIGHT TO BE MAD?????????

SORRY ABOUT THE VENT.

I would be upset too! That is very frustrating!! Like the other girls said, one time is one thing, but over and over. I'm sorry you have to deal with that.

well she knows that all the people in the bridal party are very upset. this was mostly all cause by her fiance and the first words out of her mouth to him was you better pay everyone back since you caused this break up and called off the wedding permantly. he says he does give a rats a$$(his exact words) about who he has to pay back he never wanted this wedding. she is more upset about the fact that he wont pay anyone back not that they broke up. all the girsl spoke that were in the bridal party and we said that if he doesnt repay us for all this fustration and everything we well take a piece of his $45,000.00 truck to compinsate.

Revenge like that would be real SWEET!! especially since he is acting like a such jerk! You have every right to be upset and mad - i was in a wedding that was cancelled once and thankfully the BM dresses were from Davids Bridal - and though I was not able to get a refund - they did offer to let me exchnage it for another dress (since i didn't do any alterations to the BM dress). See if where you bought the dress from could possibly work something out (I know the chance is slim) but thruthfully - you will never see that $ from them.
It really s*cks for your friend - good luck to her.

Yes you should. She should give you an apology as well.

yes , every right to be mad!!!!

Getting married is a serious thing, they are making it into some kind of joke.

They should call it off altogether!!!!!!!!!

You have every right to be annoyed.

that stinks...I can't imagine. But, I wouldn't blame it totally on him. I think the bride should offer to pay some back too. It takes two people to make a relationship work, and obviously there were problems before you all ordered your shoes and dresses. you don't go from being totally in love planning your wedding, to calling it off. It sounds like her and everyone else knew it was a trend. I'm not saying he's not an a$$ by any means, just that I would be as annoyed with the friend too.

That's horrible, but better it was finally called off for good before they said I do. I would have to say that if I was in your position I would be pretty upset.

I'd be really pissed at the both of them. Possibly wouldn't even be friends any more. I mean, once is one thing, but to string you along for years and then calling it off after you spent that money, time, and attention on her is just plain wrong. She would need to do some serious apologizing b4 getting back in my good graces!!

I would be upset - they have been going back and forth so many times --- its not like everything was going ok and then he dropped a bomb - I dont really know what i would say to my friend is anything .... but if she ever decides to get married again i think i would say no about being in her bridal party

You have a right to be upset. I feel bad for the bride though. Why would you want to make a lifelong committment to someone who is so wishywashy. I think they are both too immature to get married.

P.S. Not trying to be rude, but writing in caps is very hard to read and annoying.

Good luck!

Re: HOW SHOULD I REACT

It's better that they called off the wedding now...before they wound up in divorce court. As for the bridesmaids dresses/shoes...that is really terrible. For her next wedding, i would be suspect of her if she asked again. Also, she should volunteer to help with the cost of your loss. Even if you don't accept it, an offer is still nice!
