i heard about that on the news this morning..its nuts what goes throught the minds of 10 years olds these days.........very scary..........but i cant see things getting any better anytime soon.
It's crazy.The first thing I thought about was Children of the Corn.
Well, I don't have to click on the link to know what everyone is talking about. It's appalling and it really makes me wonder where these kids got the idea for this. Is there no sense of morality? Is there no sense of fear of consequences? I hate to say it, but if 3rd graders think like this and are capable of such a plot, it makes me fear what my middle and high school students could do. It is just sad that there is no sense of respect for adults such as teachers and sometimes I think the society as a whole lets that happen. I know I sound old-fashioned and I am only 22, but I think I might like to live in the kind of society that our parents talk about. I always hear older people saying that when they were young, most kids respected all adults including teachers and neighbors because it was like the whole community was concerned like that saying, 'It takes a village to raise a child.' Ok, I know I am ranting but as a new teacher, I think about this a lot! I know I thought differently just five years ago when I was in school but there is something wrong when 3rd graders plot to kill their teacher!
