do you think that a wedding with only 85 guests is too small? Most of my family can't come, and many of our friends are out of state and will try to make it but some can't come.
Is it going to be lame?

Absolutely nothing wrong with 85 guests!!!! That's still a lot of people!!!! Nothing lame about it. I think it will be very intimate.

I don't think so! I am guessing that you'll know all of your guests! It's annoying if half your guest are invited only because your family wants to invite them and you'll end up with pictures with unknowns. I FH would love to have your wedding size. We are compromising on 125. I don't think it would be lame!

IMO, the best weddings are the ones that are small and intimate. My friend's cousin had a wedding of 57 people and he said it was the best wedding he has ever been to.
So do not worry, sometimes less is more.

It will not be! I'm expecting 90-100 because of similar situation and we chose a place that had a intimate room - as long as the music is good and the food is delicious, it will be WONDERFUL! You get to actually TALK to EACH of your guests and you won't constantly be forced to give up having fun to talk ot so and so!

We will probably have about 85 as well, I think it is a perfect size for our wedding.
Try not to be sad, be happy that you will be able to spend more time on your special day with the people you really care about!

85 is the perfect size!! everyone will get to know everyone else and you won't spend 3/4 of your night saying hi to everyone (my biggest fea!!!)

We had about 95 people and it was great! I remember looking around the room and thinking for only having 95 people it was still a very big wedding (IMO). My personal taste is for smaller weddings. I have been to weddings with 250 plus people and it is just not as inimate as a smaller wedding. We didn't have to spend all night meeting and greeting people, some of which usually turn out to be people you hardly even know! We kept it to close family and friends and it worked out great. We spend time with everyone, more than just a hello and 'thanks for coming', plus we danced the whole night away and even had time to eat!

nothing wrong with that. Invite the people who you reall wantto be there. Dont just invite people for the heck of it. This is YOUR day, and you want the people who mean the most to the two of you there.

We ended up with 99 people for my wedding and IMO was a perfect number. We were able to talk to all of our guests as much as we liked and enjoyed ourselves with out worrying about visiting 20+ tables if we had a larger wedding.
85 people is perfect and you'll have a great time : )!!!! Enjoy yourself!!!!
