How soon are you starting to make your invitations

How soon are you starting to make your invitations

After i finish the DJ and photography stuff i think that's the next thing i wanna start working on.

But my wedding isn't until Sept 2010 so i know i'm early. but i also would like them done by sept of this year so i dont need to worry about it while i'm in school lol.

how early are you girls starting to do yours?

thats the timeline im looking at as well.... ive been ordering samples, i just want to spend the last year house hunting and shopping for it

it is a tad early but i really dont mind

We are going to order our invites around July (about 6 months before the wedding)....i still need to order the save the dates which I plan to send out in the next month or 2

i was told last night by the wedding coordinator to order mine no later than 6 months before the wedding, because im doing the calligraphy on the envelopes myself...

so ill probably order a lil sooner than that, id say it will be around early november

just last week i finally hired the woman who will be making our invitations. i go at the end of march to see the sample and then she will start production. i want to have all my invites by the summer so i have time to send them to the calligrapher and mail them by mid-october

I have already bought all my material for the invitations and am looking to finish 90% of the work by April! I have to then take a mini hiatus and rally in August/September to have them ready to be out by Oct. 1. It's never too early to have them completed. The only thing I would hold off on is putting the names on the invitation envelopes. You never know who is no longer dating someone, ect...

I'm early too... I plan on doing mine this summer while I'm off from school, and I also plan on house hunting next year, I want to be able to dedicate my energy to that. I figure that the only thing I should have to do right before the wedding is seating, food & music choices and slide show for the DJ.

Im starting to look into invites now, so i know how much to budget for them, i think its a bit early but i dont think it can hurt to keep looking into it...

thanks!! yeah i took 2 semesters of calligraphy in college, i really loved it, i made FH an amazing valentines day gift last year that he actually has framed on his wall in his room. im brushing up on my skills now, cuz its been a while, and im trying to teach myself more of the flourishy, pretty, swirly lettering that u see more on wedding invites.

its fun! tiresome and tedious after about an hour of straight work, but fun...it relaxes me and puts me in a place all by myself with my pen!
