How soon before the wedding do invites go in the mail?
Really confused about this..... how soon before a wedding should someone put their invites in the mail??
I am getting married July 11....so I am thinking putting the invites in the mail like May 1...too soon, too late????
What did you girls do, or plan on doing?

8-10 weeks prior to date ...I say at least 4-6 before RSVP date

Wedding Date - July 11 RSVP Date - June 11 Mail Out Date - May 11
There's no need to mail invitations any sooner than 2 months before the wedding date. Most brides who mail earlier end up with guests who've forgotten to RSVP because they had way too much time, put the card away somewhere and simply forgot about it

I think anywhere between 2-3 months before the wedding is perfect.

I'd say on average most people send them 2 months before the wedding, and make the RSVP date 1 month before the wedding.
I just sent my invites out this past Monday, 8/25, with an RSVP date of 10/1, and the wedding is 11/7. They were sitting here taking up room so I wanted to get them out ASAP before they got ruined at my house. Also, I didn't do save the dates, so I figured it was a good idea to get them out as soon as I could. It also gives us time to send out more invites to people on our B list depending on the number of 'no' responses, without it looking so obvious. Also, FH has a lot of family over in Ireland, so we knew it'd take a lil more time for the invites to get over there, hence us wanting to get the invites out ASAP.
Because your wedding is in the summer, you should probably send the invites around the end of April/beginning of May, to give people enough notice (so hopefully they don't book vacations or mini weekend trips for that weekend).

I am an early bird...my RSVP date is Oct 15. I sent them out saturday.
They will have about 7 weeks to RSVP. but 77 days to wedding...I hope they don't get lost.
I told my mom. 'Why didn't you send it back'? She replied..you know I am coming. LOL Yes, but send it back...why waste a stamp.
