Just take things one at a time and you will be fine. What worked well for me was FH and I tried to line up all of our vendors before the summer started. So first we did DJ in March, then Florist in April, and Photo/Video took most of April, May and into June (only one we were indecisive about). Now this summer I am doing some smaller things like picking out favors, BM dresses etc. It was the weekday evening appts that were difficult for us.
You have plenty of time, just focus on one goal at a time and realize that the wedding is just a party. Enjoy the planning and the day.

we are going to take a week in aug and to the big things like RC and Church and DJ and plan the E-Party...we have to get alot done this summer because the next 2 year FH is finishing his 5th and 6th year of Pharmacy school which is all rotations( kinda residency ) and he will never be around!! thank you for all of the help everyone!!

Register -- We got engaged in Oct 2006 and probably registered sometime in Nov or early Dec -- People were asking us where we were registered for Christmas gifts, so we went ahead and registered.
Dress shopping I was a bit late on. I purposefully put it off. I am getting married next month, and I think I ordered my dress in January / February, right before I went to China and BM dresses shortly after I ordered my gown.
Lose my mind -- This didn't start until closer to my shower (late May / mid-June) when the true colors of my FSILs and their families started to shine through. I officially lost if when nearly no one on their guest list bothered to respond to our wedding. (Less than a quarter of those on their list responded by the RSVP date )
HOWEVER - just take everything in stride. If you get too caught up in the details, you'll forget what is really important. You will survive wedding planning and be stronger for it. Why? B/c whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger!

Registered, 8-9 months before Dress shopped, more than a year in advance but ordered on the year mark loose my mind, starting to now.

We registered a little already b/c ppl were asking us before our e-party.
I'm not going to start dress shopping until September 2008.

Started dressing shopping a year and a half before the wedding
Didn't start loosing my mind until about 4 months before the wedding
