how soon do i

need to send out std's if my wedding is sept 6th 2007??

horrible horrible answer, but the truth.

i've seen 6-8 months before. but if it's on an 'off' day, you might need to give more warning, if your guests need to take a day off from work... so forth, and so on.

if it's a destination wedding, also give more time for planning.

I was going to suggest sometime around Dec / January -- when people are getting their new calendars for 2007?? (Maybe that's silly since everyone has online or electronic calendars now...) I just time them so they don't get lost in the Christmas card shuffle, though I doubt they would!

I am getting married at the end of September 2007 and plan on sending mine out like January or February. If your wedding date is on holiday weekend or a time when people are usually on vacation, I would then send it sooner than that.

typically 9 months b/4 is a good time (that's what I've read)....but if you are having a lot of OOT guests or having a destination wedding I think you should do it sooner

that's near labor day [and DH's birthday....he has always been able to associate it with labor day and school starting! ]. i'd send them sooner than later. if you wait until the 6 month mark, many guests will definitely have already planned that weekend OR all their vacation time for september in march. the 9 month mark will put you at the first of the year. might be a great time, mail them on the first...that way it's AFTER the holidays so it won't get lost in the shuffle of xmas cars and such...but long enough before most would dare make plans for september!
