Ladies, Hoping some of you can help me here. My friend is getting married on August 20th and her MOH has just called to say she is 6 weeks pregnant!!Surprise for her- happy surprise so we are all thrilled....but now my friend is worried that the dress she has ordered wont fit her....
She knows everyone is diffrent and some people put on loads of weight and others not so much.
The dress was ordered in a size 8 and that is what the MOH would have been...its too late to cancel so she either buys a bigger size AND pays extra to have it rush ordered or just crosses her fingers that it will fit.
Any advice from you Moms?
Thanks

Re: How soon do you start to show?
well at the 3 month mark my tight jeans wouldn't button anymore and by 5 mos I was living in sweat pants lol
There also sell panels that you can have sewn into the dress when you get it altered. My friend just went through the same thing for her wedding.
eta: I guess since its a dress it is kind of different. It depends on the cut and kind of material ( some material gives more then others) the wedding is only 2 months away... she might be able to pull it off!

Re: How soon do you start to show?
Everyone is so different. I didn't show much in the belly until 22-23 weeks or so. But by 10/11 weeks most of my clothes didn't fit because I expanded in other areas (hips, butt, chest, etc.). So I need clothes a size or so up (but then again I wear my clothes typically very fitted or tailered). I would call you store and see if they placed the order or if they can switch to one size up to be sure. Or maybe they can just order extra material just in case - and she would just pay a little more for alterations. I know some stores do that.

Thank you so much for your replies and ideas. She is going to order the fabric as Pearls Place wanted $375 for another dress with rush orders etc.....so the fabric it it.
Thanks to all you moms

Re: How soon do you start to show?
So she will be around 15 weeks for the wedding? I was still fitting into most of my clothes at 15 weeks.
I didn't really pop until around 22 weeks.
She'll probably be okay with the gown especially since they usually order them a little bigger.
But buying extra fabric is the best idea. Good luck to her!

I was in the same boat as you Ibecame prego in mid december and by february I was in maternity clothes and people couldn't believe it cuz it was my first child and my belly just popped around the 2 and 1/2 mark. I looked the same way everyone was telling me I am having twins or triplets but it was only one baby in there

Re: How soon do you start to show?
I was in my girlfriend's wedding when I was 4 1/2 months pregnant. The dresses were ordered before we found out the good news. My belly was definitely showing. The dresses were two-piece, the top was a strapless corset style and the skirt was A-line. I was able to have them let out the seam at the waist of the skirt and at the bottom of the corset. We didn't need to put in extra material (though it probably would have felt better if we did). I was WAY happy to be out of the dress by the end of the night though!
[Pre-pregnancy I was a size 6 in regular clothes, and I ordered a size 8 in the BM dress.]
Congrats and good luck to your friend!

Re: How soon do you start to show?
For me I was around 10 weeks when I felt my clothes didn't fit. I'm 20 weeks now and I definitely have a belly...
Everyone is different...she should talk to them at the bridal store to see what she can do.
