How tacky is this??

So, FH wanted to invite an old friend to the wedding. So, we sent an invite to her and her husband.

Got the response card back today and it said 4 were attending. And, get this: she wrote on there the 2 other people she is bringing!!

Well, I don't know them, I guess FH could. We have room, I'm sure, it's just....rude..

I do agree w/ you it is rude, and if you had room, you don't need to tell them that.... the point is they should not be including anyone else. Now, can I ask you....did you invites say Adult reception only? Does this couple have kids? could it be possible they included children on the RSVP? I mean FH should really call to clarify this. She has a daughter, who is one of the people (it says the daughter's name and guest) but she is at least 16, if not more.

It doesn't say that it is adult only, because it isn't. But we didn't invite the daughter. On the inner envelope, it just said 'Mr. and Mrs. Daye'

Unfortunately, many people dont realize that when the invite says Mr. and Mrs. John Doe, that it is only referring to them..grr

that's probably it...the daughter plus her BF... It's really up to you and FH, they could've asked you if it was OK to include her....but it would be considered rude not to include her if she lives w/ them....I don't know...it's a touchy situation.

Exactly! If they were like 2 young kids, I wouldn't really be upset, but come on! You're going to bring a practically grown child who wasn't invited and let her bring a guest????

Even if they have 2 kids, they should at least let them know before putting 4. Its really rude to someone to do that....your FH need to talk to them and find out what is going on...just be prepare though..someone might get upset

Wow!!! That is tu-tu tacky and not proper equiette. I would put my foot down. If the invitiation says Mr. and Mrs. So and So. Those are the only two people that are invited. If there was a situation they should have spoken to the both of you about it. I hope that I helped you out a little.

That is unbelievably rude. What planet do these people live on that they invite two more people to YOUR wedding!!! I still can't believe someone would do that!
