How to ask groomsmen?
Fi is annoying me. He still hasnt asked his groomsmen even though he has had plenty of opportunities to do so.
I think its partly because he doesnt know how to ask them. I guess he is a typical 'guy' and he is embarassed. Is there any cute, but manly, indrect ways to ask them??I know I sent cookies shaped like dresses with tags that said 'Will you be my BM?' but I dont think that will work for the guys.

All my FH did, was Your a great friend of mine and I'd really appreciate it if you would be a part of my bridal party....they said yes, and went to get shots at the bar after.

Re: How to ask groomsmen?
I'm with you - FH hasn't asked anyone and they all keep asking ME if they are in it!!I politely say 'I'm not involved with that part of the decision.'
The worst thing is the FH was in a wedding a year ago and he was so annoyed when the Groom waited so long to ask him. Hypocrite!!
I think boys are just so afraid of rejection/emotion when it comes to their buddies that they cower!!
We are hanging out with the majority of them this weekend for the holiday - I emphasized to FH how HAPPY I would be if he took care of asking them during the weekend.
Hopefully that works.

Re: How to ask groomsmen?
It's easy.. tell him to look deep in his potential groomsmen's eyes and say... 'Buddie-wuddie.. would you help the groomy woomy on his special day', over and over again.OK.. let's be serious.
Two approaches I used...
1.) Tell the friend (but ONLY if it's a close friend/relative).. 'You're gonna be a groomsmen, damnit! '
At that point.. it's a done deal. Drink a beer together to celebrate.
No formal speech needed.
2.) If it's someone you're friends with but not particulalrly close to.. say.. 'I would be honored if you would be one of my groomsmen.' It's usually a done deal.
If you're gonna ask.. they're probably gonna say yes. It should have been more nerve-wreaking doing the proposal.

Re: How to ask groomsmen?
I can totally Mrs.Brad! My FH still hasn't asked his guys either - he doesn't think it's a big deal and they'll all say yes...
FH and 'the guys' are going to Las Vegas for a long weekend in June (to celebrate their birthday's - they've known each other since elementary school) and he plans to ask them while they're all together that weekend.
I'm OK with that - he knows that's the 'deadline'!

Re: How to ask groomsmen?
Yea, I set a deadline too. Hopefully, he will stick to it. I'll just make him read all these posts. Thanks everyone!

Re: How to ask groomsmen?
What if he invites all of the guys he wants in the bridal party out for drinks and proposes a toast, 'to all the guys in my bridal party.' and just leaves it at that. I don't think my FH ever 'officially' asked his guys. We had an engagement party and only invited family and the 'members of our bridal party.'Welcome New Vendors
