HOW TO FEED A VENDOR Bourne Brides especially

FH and I dropped the ball and forgot to mention this topic to our contact at The Bourne Mansion before we signed the contract. I'm wondering what the average cost of a meal is for a vendor and what it consists of. ( I'd especially appreciate info from Bourne brides)

Thanks gals!!

Mine vendors were quoted 1/2 price for their meal.. Which is decent, my friend had to pay full price

Well we're only using one of their vendors so far and it's the florist... DOH! I doubt they will be needing a meal! It's the 10 piece band I'm most worried about!

I asked the music company and the band leader about meals and if i was tro feed them. They said no - so I would check with your band first. I was so psyched that they didnt want dinner!

I'm a former Bourne Bride and we forgot about it before we signed the contract too. They end up charging the vendors 1/2 price, but you can't use them to meet your minimum.....

our vendor meals are $35 each. It makes me SO MAD b/c I originally laughed at this thinking it is REDICULOUS to feed the vendors....we're paying them a ton of money!
However, we later found that they all demand it as part of their contract which is ABSURD........but whatever.....

But did they mention it to you when you booked them? was it written on the contract? My vendors never told me that I have to feed them, except for my videographer but he is a close friend of ours and he is doing our video for free.

i just asked the same question to my RH .. he made me at ease and said since we are using in house vendors they don't count against my guest list AND he doesn't charge for their meals if they weren't the referred vendors then they would be 1/2 price .. i know i am not a bourne mansion bride but hope thats a start ....

I am going to feed all of my vendors even though it is going to cost about an additional $700 - $800. It is only $35 more per person and it must be exhausting to work without some food in you. I don't know, just rubs me the wrong way not to feed them - almost cheap-like

Well..shouldnt they come to the place on a full stomach. I mean my wedding starts at 3pm and ends at 8:30pm...only 5 1/2hrs...if they come on a full stomach, and maybe have an appetizer here and there they should be ok. IMO. I just cant see spending anymore money on this wedding, besides I am already paying a lot for their service...I cant see paying to feed them. Sorry if I sound cheap, just my opinion.

Well, that is different. My wedding is starting at 11:00 (I am sure they have to travel so I am guessing they have to leave around 9 am b/c they have to come and set up). My wedding ends at 4:30. That is a long stretch.

Vendors eat. Especially a photographer and videographer. They're with you for at least 10 hours.
Even if some say they wont, many times the hall will still charge them as a vendor meal (1/2 price if outside, free if house vendors)

You really should feed your vendors. It doesn't matter how much you are paying them.

I'm a profesional wedding band singer in Boston and I have to tell you, we are there before you are & we are the last to leave. If my band is playing a wedding reception from 7-11, we are there usually about 4:30 or 5 pm for set up and sound check and we don't pack up until the party is over. I leave my house around 3:30 and get home around 1:30-2 am. Its a great job & I love it but its exhausting.

You cannot expect them not to need food. Seriously. They are human. And, as an FYI, they don't get the same meal as you. We usually get pasta or some chicken or something simple. We don't eat at the cocktail hour or get 1st course or 2nd or dessert. Its just some nuritiousment and its almost always a very small plate. They are not trying to take advantage of anyone. Feed them. Its not only cheap not to, its rude IMHO.
