how to get my boss to RSVP?

how to get my boss to RSVP?

One of my two boss', of all people, hasn't RSVP'd yet. The due date was last week. So today I sent her an email asking about it (I felt like doing it in person puts her on the spot.) She's usually very responsive on email. I sent it at 9am. Now its 1pm and I still don't have a response.

How long do I wait before re-approaching her? And what can I say to further entice her to give me an answer?

I hate those people that wait till the last minute or just dont respond cause they assume you know they are coming. If you dont hear from her i would just approach her..let her know that you need to give a final count...she has had plenty of time to respond dont worry about puttin her on the spot...u need to know!

I would have to assume her answer is no at this point.

Don't add her in if she doesn't respond by end of day

Same thing happened to me. I told my boss, 'Listen, I understand you are unable to attend but I have to tell the hall today (LIE) what my final number is. I'm going to put you down as a no - no worries, it's just that I have to know.'

Then, that's it. Put it down as a no and proceed with life! He finally told me that night from home that he couldn't. It was the worst because he ate lunch with me everyday and could never tell me!

me, too. She may just be procrastinating because she feels bad that she isn't coming. This will take the pressure off so you have an answer for sure. It's just so disrespectful and unprofessional to make you wait like that! I had the same problem with a few of my bosses for my e-party. I know I'll go through the same issue for my wedding.

Maybe I'll just send the invite with 'no' checked off for them!

Like M&LSept1606 said, at this point her response is more than likely a 'no' so what I would do is approach as Leese did her boss and let her know you need to let the hall know tonight and you need to know if she will be attending. I would get a definite answer from her if you can just to clear your head.

Good Luck

For me, it was definitely a 'i feel really bad but i don't want to come' thing. He ended up giving me a very generous gift and all in all, it worked out. But he was too sheepish to just come out and tell me!
