Looking for ideas, a coworker is throwing a ceremony and reception at her house for her friend. We would like ideas on how to serve the food (alcohol, and then food after ceremony or before - they are finger foods). What is an easy dessert (not needing to be cut). Any pics, ideas, crafts, flower ideas, anything would be great. We need this all in two weeks. :) Thanks.

Re: How to host a wedding at your house for a friend?
i would serve food after the ceremony because traditionally thats how its done, but i'd maybe leave the option open for guests to get a glass of champagne or something else to drink when the arrive pre-ceremony
for a dessert you dont have to cut you can do a cupcake cake. just stack the cupcakes on a large tiered cakestand to kinda resemble the shape and look of a traditional tiered wedding cake
for flowers check the pics in my album from my engagement party we just did small vases filled with about 7 or 8 roses bound together tightly with a rubberband and ribbon tied around the vase. the vases were only .99 a peice from AC Moore (tehy take everyones coupons!) and the roses were a steal we got 6 dozen from Costco for only $50!!! (had to be ordered a week in advance) maybe add some tealights around the vases you can get them cheap from oriental trading and can get labels for them like we did.
hope these ideas help!

p.s. just wanted to praise Costco again - not only did the roses look gorgesous and really full and lush they lasted FOREVER!! im talking atleast 3 weeks before they started to go brown, it was a running joke in my house that the roses just wouldnt die. im pretty sure FH is only ever gonna get me flowers from Costco now lol
