Classic Spanish Sangria This is an authentic version of the popular wine drink. You can add any fruit that you want, but I find that apples and pears absorb all the rum. This one is not diluted with carbonated beverages. I have much success with red Burgundy wine and white rum, though spiced rum is nice too. Prep Time: approx. 10 Minutes. Ready in: approx. 2 Hours 10 Minutes. Makes 6 servings.
1 lemon 1 lime 1 orange 1 1/2 cups rum 1/2 cup white sugar 1 (750 milliliter) bottle dry red wine 1 cup orange juice
Directions 1 Have the fruit, rum, wine, and orange juice well chilled. Slice the lemon, lime and orange into thin rounds and place in a large glass pitcher. Pour in the rum and sugar. Chill in refrigerator for 2 hours to develop the flavors.

Re: How to make Sangria!
I play it by ear and it's a bit different every time, but it's always good:
1 bottle of red wine 1 small bottle of brandy 1 cup of OJ cut up oranges cut up apples rasberries cut up mango
(really whatever fruit you are in the mood for)
I let it sit overnight and the next day it is ready to drink!!!!!!!!!

Re: How to make Sangria!
I make it all the time and my friends like it:
I make it by taste so I don't have proportions - my friend taught me this recipe (sounds strange but it is good)
Red wine - Orange Juice Fresca (but ONLY a SMALL bit) then add: cubed apples, and oranges (and any other fruit you want)
It is really easy to make and although as I said it sounds strange everyone seems to love it
I think the apples are SO important though!! they soak up so much of the alcohol that if you eat them you are feeling so GOOD

Re: How to make Sangria!
I make it with citrus punch instead of orange juice becuse I like it more on the sweet side...I don't add sugar though...just apples, oranges and limes. And a *hint* of Fresca if I want it to be sparkling.

Re: How to make Sangria!
Here's the recipe I am using for Marnles GTG
1 magnum burgundy (gallo makes a decent one) 6 oz tripple sec 6 oz brandy 6 oz tropican OJ cut up friut ( 1 orange, 2 lemosn, 2 limes, grapes (cut in half))
mix everything together Chill overnight taste it before serving - if not sweet add 8 oz sprite, otherwise 8 oz club soda - I usually use sprite
I'm expecting to generate a gallon of sangria from this
