How to not invite my friend's BF

How to not invite my friend's BF

A close friend of mine has an on again off again relationship with a loser. He's an ex-felon, is proud that he spent years in jail for selling drugs, and treats her like crap. I would like to invite her with a guest-like her mom- but I can't have this guy at my wedding. Do I say something, like he's not invited but bring someone else, or just invite her solo?

If you are inviting other friends with guests you will insult your friend but, if you are not inviting anyone with guests then you are in the clear... my advice would be to just suck it up invite her with her boyfriend it is one minor detail of the wedding. Is it worth losing a friend over? I do not talk to one of my former friends because she invited everyone else with dates and not me. It was a huge insult to me and now my fh. She never liked him. It is sad... think about the consequences...

This is tough, I'm not good with this stuff that is why my wedding is so big. If you are over 18 you got a guest.

But what if you told your friend you wanted to invite her mom but can't really afford it, would you bring her as your guest? Idk if that could back fire thigh and she say no I really want to spend it with my bf......

This is a tough situation. I know you don't like your friends boyfriend but this is unfortunately who she chooses to be with. If you are close with her its going to cause undue stress with your relationship and within your wedding, so I think it's better to just invite him to spare yourself the conflict. Hopefully, she will figure out eventually that this guy is no good. Don't let it ruin your wedding day. :)

If that's really how you feel and what you want to do, you have to be up front and honest with her about it. From what you've said, I'd imagine it's not a secret to her that you don't care for her BF, so I would just be honest with her IF that's what you want to do. If you value the friendship more than that, I will say, you will probably never even notice he's there, there's so much going on and so many people to see on your wedding day.

This! I'm inviting a very good friend of mine, who sadly, is also dating someone who we all dislike. Unfortunately though, she is head over heels in love, and I just have to bite the bullet and let her take whoever she chooses. My friendship with her is more important than who she chooses to date. Truthfully, when it involves your friend's boyfriend, she may no even want to hear your feelings about him, and that can sour your relationship with her. If you or several people have made your feelings known to her, to no effect, than its best to let it alone and preserve your friendship.

I know I am going to have an issue like this with a friend... She's technically single but sees this guy (and other guys but not as much) occasionally.. I'm inviting her with a guest and am worried she'll bring this guy... I do NOT want him there because he is such an ***. His presence would bother me, especially since we are having a relatively small weddingI'll see him everywhere. I may just tell her I don't want him there but I don't want to sound harsh.

A friend of mine went through this last year. One of her best friends was dating a guy who is a big time local drug dealer, has a record.. Bad news. Not to mention he was her FH's drug dealer before he got clean. So she invited her friend without her bf and she didn't come to the wedding and they don't speak at all anymore. You just have to be prepared for that possibility.

Are you inviting all of your other friends with guests? Could you invite her singularly?

If you are close with her... invite her and talk to her about coming alone.

If she's not that close....save yourself the drama and leave her off the invite list

Hmmm...well I'm not inviting other people with guests unless they are married or dating seriously bc I am having a small wedding and want to invite people I know, not waste space on randoms. She knows I don't like him, and I had words with him and I'm sure he doesn't like me, so she'll probably understand. Maybe I can use the excuse 'he has an early curfew bc he's on parole' and not invite him lol! Sad, but true!
