How to stop Pop Ups?

Ok my computer savy people...I hate all these pop ups I keep getting...I downloaded some popup stopper a long time ago, and now it doesn't really block anything.

HELP!

Well spyware blaster will help with pop ups that are coming about due to spyware, while the spyware guard helps prevent spyware from getting onto your computer. you may be experiencing the typical pop up ads featured on many sites, so they may not be spyware. just good software to have.

ad aware and spybot search and destroy are good to have as well but many people who design spyware/hijackware/etc. are working with those programs in mind. this is just like people who create viruses often create them with outlook/outlook express in mind. thus, it is likely that the people creating these evil viruses, etc. will be able to get them onto your computer....they are playing the odds that you will use the most popular software.
