How to univite a couple of guests?

Original post by evelynrtorres

A year ago I opened my big mouth & invited (verbally) a couple of co-workers that I am no longer close with. I had my shower this past weekend & needless to say, neither one of them came or called my BM to tell her they weren't coming (they both gave me lame excuses for not coming afterwards) & they paid for them to come (caterer needed headcount). Neither one of them is attending my Bachlorette Party either (I asked them). Since I'm not close with either one and my fiance and I would RATHER invite a couple of other people we have met over the year and hang out with often (who weren't on the original guest list since we already had too many people); How do I go about univiting them? I know some feeling will be hurt but I'd rather have people who care about us at our wedding!

I would have to agree with angie3. It's all about courtesy. Personally, I've already made it crystal clear to everyone that if you say you are coming to a function (i.e. my wedding) and I pay for your plate and then you don't show up, you are out of my life for good. And if you know me, you know I mean business.
That is just rude, and it shows how little class you have. Unless of course it's something serious like a car accident or death in the family.....

I may seem a little harsh, but quite honestly this is my day and if you cause me stress on my wedding day like that, then you are truly not someone I need to have in my life.
Good luck and stay strong.
