I know this may sound really stupid, but does anyone know the best way to use a curling iron and to get the curls to stay??? TIA!

I have such curly hair its no problem, but I did curls for my friend once. I sprayed hairspray as it was around the curling iron. Everyone tells you not to do this, but its really the only way if you don't have naturally curly hair.

How do you curl your hair with a flat iron? I occasionally use the curling iron but my curls won't last a couple of hours and that's with hair spray, ugh. So, I just don't bother anymore but I love the look.

The best advice I've ever been given: Make sure your hair is dirty!! If you just washed your hair the curls wont hold. If you havent washed your hair for a day or two the curls will hold much better.

i prefer hot rollers to curling irons. they don't get as hot, and i find it takes less time time for the hands-on part. to get them to stay longer, i usually spray it with a loose hold hair spray and sort of finger comb it after to make it full.

The only thing I know that will help the curls stay longer on is to put hair spray on the area your going curl first. Then use the curling iron.

That is extent of my knowledge

u girls are too nice. those look like sheit

sometimes i put the hair under that lever.. but usually just wrap the piece around the barrel ,AWAY from the face

its a spray for curling irons. its strong.. more like a spritz..so dont use a lot of it..and do NOT spray each section with it.. just spray ur hair all at once. 3 spritz should be fine
and u can finish it off with reg hair spray.

how do you not use the lever...and not burn your hand!??

i hold the iron open with my thumb and index finger..and with the other hand i hold the piece of hair from the end..and wrap around.

Now this I can help with! I suck with a curling iron but I am a master with makeup. Especially eyes. Ok now do you want eyeliner on the bottom lash or top or both??

I usually do just the bottom with liner and then shadow on the top lid. Ok so for liner on the bottom lash here is a great trick:

With your index finger on your non-dominant hand pull your eye to the side toward your hairline. That make a taught straight line then lightly apply the liner from the end of the lashes in toward the corner of the eye. Don't use liquid eyeliner it is way too difficult to correct a mistake if you do. I use a self-sharpening eyeliner from Covergirl and it is AMAZING! I have been using it for years. HTH!
