we are compromising.....our place is going to be done in neutral tones...like browns and mochas...with color accents...warms reads and some blues and greens....theyll vary by room.. fh wants red curtains, i get the blue bed sat and bathroom....

he also collects horror memoribillia and original 1 sheet movie posters.....if we have an extra room or basement...hes going to decorate it with all his things...and well get a nice tv and minibar/fridge and itll be his entertaining room...well put our game consoles and helll entertain his friends there....but then i get full control of our den, including decor....

and well hang some of his posters...bc they are such nice art,,just noting gross or graphic that will offend guests

He could care less what the decor is like....luckily though he agrees with my taste, so basically, what I say goes.

FH and I are pretty ok with decorating....He really doesn't have a problem with much of what I want to do (I'm n/ot the girly frilly type) and al he keeps saying is he has the Garage

We actually agree on everything, believe it or not.
We had our heart set on Mahagony Kitchen Cabinet's but when our interior designer showed us how closed it will make our kitchen look with dark cabinets and dark granite, we both decided to go with the Light ones instead.

I think it helps having a professional guide you, and i feel that nothing has been a fight yet with the design or decorating

We are going to compromise before I go off and do things we will talk about it and he will go with me to choose

I am a neutral tone person in general, but FH could care less about how i decorate. I was anti him putting a large fish tank in our living room and he said that I could decorate Pink for all he cared if ij ust gave him this 1 thing...so I did...no pink though..lol

If you asked FH he would say all his stuff is down in the basement, which maybe true but I mean I couldn't have gargoil statues and met decals all over the house! So we've gone with neutral colors and I've told him when we get a house he can have the basement and do what he wants! mabyeeeeeeeeeee

hahaha well he has NO decorating sense and he knows it SO he lets me make all of the decisions, which is fine b/c i enjoy it

I mostly made the decisions, but always asked him for his input. He knows to save it all for when we have a bar, then he can decorate...well, as long as the Mets/Yankee ratio is even!

he could care less how we decorate. he thinks it's stupid to put pictures on the wall.

luckily we usually agree, but we try and compromise

But if i really dont agree with him and his wacky design ideas, I tell him he doesnt know what he's talking about and he ends up realizing i was right after its all done..lol (he's a smart man)

FH just asks for no pink, which he doesn't have to worry about. Most of the colors I like are neutral tones - sage, tan, ivory, etc.
