OK this has already been an agurment between us for the last year. His family is very italian and also lives within 10 min of each other and get together for everything. My family is all over the country (with 1 international half the year) so it's really hard. We've gone to his grandmothers house for Christmas every year and Easter to his house, but Thanksgiving is one Mom and I aren't willing to give up on.
And now that my mom and brother are on speaking terms again YAY! he'll be here for Thanksgiving again and so will I married or not, with or without FH.

Somehow we usually get stuck with his family. I am getting tired of it!

Its not going to be easy, but my family holidays are not a big thing, they are smaller celebrations where as FILs have big holidays...it all depends on what kind of holiday we are in the mood for....quiet or lots of people.

onehere one there one being hosted... i can't have that kind of drama... Its just not needed

I almost dread the holidays because of this.... the thing is, his family is always together for the holidays, but only the immediate family, mom/dad sister and him and I. When you go to my family holiday dinners...there is atleast 30 people there... I know it's not really fair, but I figure we can eat with just his parents any day of the year??
So what we end up doing is going to his parents, staying for 2-3 hours...fighting traffic for an hour...then going to my parents ....which just ***** because you spend the entire day watching the clock....GRR!!

(just to make things worse, normally my mom lives in florida, but this year she's coming here for the holidays!! Which i'm ecstatic about, but, now we have to split it amongst 3 places!! Should be interesting)

I think we will host all holidays!! Just easier that way for us!!

That's going to be World War 3 when that has to be decided....my family splits the day as it is...we go to my one grandmother's for happy hour and then go to the other's for dinner and they alternate every holiday so it's good b/c I get to see both sides of my family. Now factor in FH. Personally, I feel my family is more important and we should just go to them, but I know that's not how HE feels! LOL...we're going to have to cross that bridge when we get to it...luckily all of our family (both of us) live within 5-10 miles of each other so it's really not too much travelling.

christmas eve with his side
thanksgiving at my side (hes got like 20 people on his side while theres only the 5 of us here- anyway he doest mind he LOOOVESSSSSS my moms cooking ) and easter is not a problem since there are usually two easters (catholic and the greek)
am i missing anything?

Luckily his family does not celebrate the holiday on the actual holiday. So we split it up that way.
