How wold were you when you started dating?

And how did that relate to when your parents 'allowed ' you to start dating(This is a spin off from parenting)?

I was a late bloomer, I didnt start dating until I was 17.

i don't think i ever dated until i was older and even then, it wasn't dating...rather, i was always with guys and never had formal dates! wow, i sound like such a hooch!

I was going to say the same thing ... I didn't 'date' in HS but I did have a 'boyfriend' freshman year (we talked on the phone, smootched at school, went to dances together, etc ... he also lived on Roosevelt Island & I lived in Queens - it was enough 'commuting' to downtown Manhattan to go to school, I wasn't doing it on the weekends!). The rest of HS was really the same - just kinda hanging out with people some of who were boyfriends.

I think it started seriously at 14.

My first serious boyfriend when I actually went out on dates was when I was 15. My mom was fine with it, she felt I was old enough at 15.

I had boyfriends for as long as I can remember. I know in 4th grade I had a boyfriend who used to come over my house every day after school. Our parents knew we were BF/GF After him I had another one in 4th grade. Again, we didn't go out on dates, but I went to his house or he went to mine every day after school. I was a little bit of a tomboy so we used to play kickball, dodgeball, ride bikes, skateboard, stuff like that Then throughout middle school I had boyfriends but lied about them. My girlfriends I and would sneak around to hang out with these boys. My first 'serious' boyfriend was in high school. I was 15 (a freshman) and he was 17 or 18 (a senior). We dated for a year. At first my parents tried to tell me I couldnt date him because he was older so we had to hang out in my house only with my parents home for a few months until they got to know him and like him.

My first date/kiss/boyfriend was when I was 15.

I was 17 and in eleventh grade whenI finally had a boyfriend. By then I think my parents probably thought, 'Finally!'

Though I don't think they would have been thrilled if I'd started dating much before 15 or so.

mine were strict, met DH when I was 16, he came and got a job at the restaurant I was working at, he was the host I was the hostess. It pissed my mom off to no extent. then in my senior year I was allowed to go to the movies, I had to show a movie stub when I got home, I was allowed 3.5 hours to get home after movie started. Then spring break senior year, I wrote them a note saying I went to Daytona, be back tuesday.....I told them it was love they just did not believe me. And the weird thing was she always accused me of sleeping with him, and i did not do it until I was 20

We didn't actually go on dates in high school. It was more like 'will you be my bf/gf?' My first bf was when I was 15 and that was a complete joke. My serious HS boyfriend and I became a couple when we were both 16. We were constantly off and on but that relationship lasted a long time. We're pretty good friends today and keep in touch once in a while. I have fond memories.

I've got ya all beat

my first 'boyfriend' was at 6 years old!!! It was a little strange.. my aunt married my uncle (my uncle is my dad's brother) when I was 6 and I was thier flower girl. Michael was my aunt's newphew (her sister's son) and he was the ring bearer. We fell immediately IN LOVE and even kissed right there on the dance floor But alas, it was long distance thing and we would write each other letters , I told everyone he was going to be my HUSBAND .. but we drifted apart

A few months ago, I actually came across a postcard Michael sent me from SeaWorld that I kept .. it went something like this 'Hi Felicia, I love you, I wish you were here, I love you, Love Michael xoxoxo' SO cute

My next 'boyfriend' was in 3rd grade, Gerald and I were best friends actually, but I always thought he was adorable and pretended he was my boyfriend in my mind He was the boy who was the 'groom' to my 'bride' one year for halloween... our Mom's even thought we would wind up together, but we went to different Junior High schools and different directions, etc...........

But they I had a dry spell. After a great start, I really didn't have another REAL boyfriend until I was 17. I liked guys, vice versa .. but it never developed into anything serious or a dating thing at all until I was older

So technically, I guess I'm a 'late bloomer' , so to speak

You sound like me! My first bf was in 4th grade and it all started with 'hey, maybe we can go to taco bell sometime'

my first 'boyfriend' was in fifth grade, I think it was like 8th or 9th I was aloud to start.
