i could understand how you might feel that way, but their engagement doesn't make yours any less special! it is an important and special time for both you and your sister and you should be supportive and happy for each other, as everyone is for the both of you!

Re: How would you feel?
Hmm I think it depends.
1. Is you sister older or younger? 2. Is she getting married before or after you?
The reason I ask is if she is older she way have trouble dealing with the fact that her younger sister is getting married before her.
Did she know this guy for longer than 2 months and they have only been dating two months OR did she meet and start dating him two months ago now they are getting married.
I am not one to put a timeline on love but that seems a little soon if you ask me.
Personally, I would be annoyed

You make a very good point. It does not take away from her day.

i could see how you could be upset! but you have to understand that people are gonna get engaged and then get married when they want to and you have no control of when they decide to.

welcome!
nope. other people's lives don't revolve around me an vice versa. i don't have time in my life to worry about what other people do, etc...i don't own being engaged or my wedding date or anything else, and people are free to do what they want.
oh, i just re-read the post. they've been together 2 months???? i doubt they'll last.. but big hugs no matter what

Re: How would you feel?
I could definately picture myself feeling a little upset but on the other hand, I've noticed engagements seem to happen in groups. In my group of friends we all got engaged within a few months of each other. By the end of 2009, we'll all be married! I guess one guy proposes and then all the other guys feel the pressure or get the same idea.

Re: How would you feel?
i think it's more the fact that they have only been together 2 months. If they had been together for awhile I wouldn't judge it. I have a friend who got engaged the very next day I was super happy for them. I just think it's odd they feel the need to rush.

Re: How would you feel?
My feeling is just like you wouldnt want someone telling you when you can/cant get engaged, you can't really tell them...my sister just got divorced and is now plannign her second engagement...she will probably be married, and preggo before FH and I get married! Oh well!
I told her she can't give birth at the ceremony though!

Re: How would you feel?
I agree with most of the girls... if the couples had been dating for a long time... I wouldn't be upset... I would be happy to have someone else to share my planning mania with... but I would be a little upset if the couples had only been dating for two months....
BUT on the other hand... the other girls have already stated it... your engagement is and always will be special to you... so you go on ahead and plan and enjoy your engagement... try not to let these little bumps upset you too much... its not worth it...
BTW Congrats and welcome...

Re: How would you feel?
Practically the same thing happened to me only with one of my best friend - I am so happy for her, she is getting married first and for me my wedding means just as much. Being in my late 20s I just realize this is the time of life we are at. I wish I was the only bridal party my friends were looking forward and planning for sometimes - but I realize that is just me being silly and selfish!

I agree FH's sister is getting married a month after FH and I and I'm going to do my wedding stuff and she'll have hers.

First of all, welcome and congrats on your engagement.
I agree with summertimegal...the world doesn't stop just because we get engaged and ours won't be the only wedding going on.
My sister got engaged after 10 weeks and they're still going strong 19 years and 3 kids later....so quick engagements do happen and can work out.
Enjoy your time and let your sister enjoy her time. Life is REALLY too short to get bent out of shape about something like this.

Re: How would you feel?
To be honest I would be a little annoyed. But there's a brighter side to this. You can do a lot of wedding planning with your sister. I don't have any sisters but i wish i did especially for a time like this. I think you should also talk to her about the wedding date so that there's not too much drama.
