i am ok with it...my FMIL is not getting her makeup professionally done but she might get her hair done...she has short hair anyway so she may do it herself. If she feels more comfortable then you shouldn't worry about it..us brides have so much to worry about

neither my mom or my MIL got there's done... and they still looked as stunning as always
but to me, the thought never even entered my mind to make them do it

hmm thanks for the opinions girls.... I heard this and I wasn't quite sure how I felt at first...but I see your points. AND OF COURSE I would never make her do anything !

i think it would annoy me for a second, then i'd get over it. i cannot make my mom or mil do what i say on my wedding day

My mother and FMIL are doing their own hair and makeup also and it doesn't bother me either. My mom has to wear a wig, and my FMIL has very short hair, so getting their hair done would be pointless anyway!!
As far as makeup, I know they only trust themselves after all of these years, so as a gift to them I may give them makeup sets from Sephora or MAC.

I don't think mine will be getting hers done either - I could care less. My MOH, BM, mom and FMIL can get their hair/makeup done if they want. I will be equally happy either way - although I kind of hope they all don't get them both done (cause it is a noon wedding and time is limited!)

It wouldn't bother me. The only reason that I would want them to get at least their hair done, is so they feel really pampered and special for the day. But what ever they want is fine. I'm sure they would look beautiful whether or not they got it all done by a pro.
