how would you take this??

ok... so DH and i have been married a little over a year- we were one of the first in our group to get married.
another couple just got married 2 weeks ago.
NOW- the couple that just got married had 50 K of daddy's money to spend on the wedding- we didn't. so, we were talking to another friend who was at our wedding and talking about the cost of things and DH says ' yeah, we did well- we only spent about $25 K total on ours. ' and this friend goes ' my sister spent 25 K on her wedding 8 years ago!'
how would you take that? as insulting or is she saying we did well?? not that i really care too much becasue our wedding was what we wanted... bt just curious

Always go the postive route because nine times out of ten noone ever means harm.

i think it kinda depends on the tone in which she said it, but if i were you i would have been offended by it - even if she thought it, she should keep it to herself

I agree that it depends on the tone. I'm not sure if I would be offended. Probably not, b/c she may have meant it as a complement.
