to pre-print your invitation envelopes? I have a friend who is a designer and will print everyone's names in a fancy font on a label and adhere it to the envelopes for me. It looks beautiful, but the knot says you HAVE TO have a calligrapher do this. what does everyone think?

I think it's perfectly fine -- save the $$. I love the way calligraphy looks -- but we printed our own envelopes on the printer and they turned out great.

the knot can say whatever i wants but computer printed envelopes are very common now days. I think as long as they give you the look your want you should go for it!

Thanks. I think they look great, but the knot freaked me out. I think I'll stay away from them for a while!

sometimes i think they do that so you will click a link to a vendor THEY have on there locally who pays for advertising fees (not unlike this site)--like if you DON'T do it, you will burn in wedding hell. ' do what you like! if it looks great, go for it. i did the envelope printing myself on the envelopes, and i think it looked just as good as if a company like inkspun did it!

screw the knot! i printed up my envelopes myself, using the exact same font the return address/invites were printed in from the printer and it looks awesome. way better than calligraphy which would be in a different color and not at all matching our style! i say do what you want!

Same here. When 'the knot' is paying for my wedding they can dictate my envelopes.

I'm having my calligraphy printed instead of hand written. I actually like the way it looks better printed!

Re: how wrong is it
We are printing our own. I figured who is really gonna remember how the envelope was addressed. And if someone does happen to notice it is a label and not hand written i think they have too much time on their hands!!!

Re: how wrong is it
Personally, I wouldn't use labels.
I'd print directly on the envelopes, but I'd not use labels... JMHO.
