how'd he ask?

aww this is a nice question!!!
FH and I spent New Year's eve in the house (i was recovering from foot surgery, I was in pain, and I couldn't walk). we were sitting around, drinking wine, watching television and waiting for the ball to drop. When the clock struck 12, FH gave me our New Year's kiss with champagne in one hand and the ring on the end of the pinky of his other hand. after our kiss, he showed me the hand with the ring and asked, 'will you marry me, baby?' i was soooo shocked!

on our anniversary.
on the water, while taking a walk right before we went on a helicopter tour of NYC
Tehn went to tavern on the green for dinner and he special ordered a cake for us

We went to a place called Discovery Cove in Orlando. When we got there we were told we had gotten a complimentary upgrade to a private beach area, which was hidden and fenced off. It had a table, lounge chairs, towels, and a mini fridge stocked with drinks. After some fun snorkeling with tropical fish and petting sting rays we did a dolphin swim. At the end the dolphin came over with a buoy that said 'Will you Marry me?' It was perfect because dolphins are one of my favorite animals. When we went back to the private beach area the staff had set it all up with champagne and chocolates on the table, framed pictures of us from earlier that day, and tropical flowers. The ring was in a treasure chest on a decorated pedestal. It was the best day ever!

That is so unique and romantic! WOW!

I'm not a newbie but i love this story so i'm going to tell it anyway! lol! I was just returning from a trip from florida where i was with my girlfriends for 7 days. It was the longest we've ever been apart. He was picking us up from jfk airport and met me in baggage claim and he had flowers in his hands and gave me a big hug and kiss and then asked me to never leave him again. I started laughing bc it sounded rediculous but then he got down on one knee in from of everyone and asked me to marry him!

That is awesome!!! I love the pics very romantic and creative!

It was Valentines Day and we always just stay in and snuggle and get a movie....we go out to dinner the weekend before V-day usually.....

any who..... I got him this really nice watch and he kept putting off giving me my gift....until finally he told me that he couldn't afford anything and that he didn't get me anything....so I proceeded to get mad at him and I cried a bit....all the while he kept trying to get me to leave the room so he could get the flowers and ring ready....he kept asking me to go make him tea.

After I finally said you got me nothing and I am not going to make you tea, he told me to close my eyes and he put the box on my knee....when I opened my eyes he was on his knee and he asked me....

PERFECT!

i've told this story many a times but its a great one...we went to the empire state building....we were goin through the metal dector and FH kept going off. .the guy started to bug, cause FH wasn't giving in to that he had a ring in a box...well that went on a for a few more times FH walking back and forth through it practically stripping the guy was getting really angry like FH had bomb or something so fianlly FH threw the ring down and looked at he guy and was like u just ruined it...the guy turned to me and said sorry...it was the MOST awkward line i have ever stood on and the elevator to the top was even better...we couldn't even look at eachother...

we got to the top FH got down on one knee and told me 'when im with you i feel like im on top of the world...since we are at the top now....will you marry me'

and of course i said yes

Awww!!! Cute!

On Christmas Eve we do a very traditional fish din. The whole family is there, aunts, uncles, cousins, you name it. Not to mention my great aunt's house next door along with all of her family. They were all here, at my grandmothers. He wanted his brother in law to dress up as Santa for all my nieces, nephews and cousins. I was like ok.
So Santa arrived and gave out gifts the whole nine. Then I got a gift. Everyone was freaking out. But when I opened it up it was slippers. Everyone was like what slippers!!!! We had a laugh. Then Santa handed him a gift. It was a shirt box that my shirt box was taped into. LOL
He was like Santa this is not going to fit me, but maybe it will fit Danielle.
That was it the whole room was yelling and crying and hugging. It was great. His sister was there and brother in law and his parents came soon after. It was great!!! Best of all I was not expecting it at this time!!!!!!!

OMG that is awesome.....that is one of my fantasy proposals! everytime i visit my family in florida and FH picks me up at the airport im hoping he does something like that - even though we are already engaged i love that story!!!!!

That's funny... years ago FH gave me a juice container ring and I put it on my keychain - I had it there for the longest time... he used to always give me fake rings! Glad I have my real one now though!

He proposed at Coney Island on the beach while watching the fireworks.

We were going on vacation to Hawaii and I kept talking about how it would be so great to get engaged there. But Fh had just started a new job and kept saying he needed time to save money before he bought a ring. So I figured it wouldn't happen.
We were sitting on the beach our first night watching the sunset. He kept saying all these nice things to me, which I just thought were his typical compliments. Until he got on his knee and asked me to marry him, with the most perfect ring in his hand.
