long story short, fh hired a limo to take us to the city, we stayed at the london hotel by central park where he proposed, and then rode around in the limo drinking champagne and went to dinner. it was a whole weekend thing and it was just amazing.

Re: How'd he do it?
I feel like i told this story so many times lol
We were in France for two weeks. Three days before the trip ended we were in Cassis, France (south of France). We were hiking on the cliffs over looking the Mediterranean. We got to a spot where it was just me and him and he tried to hug me, i pushed him away - HELLO hiking in July!! i was hot and there were bugs lol So he tried to hug me again. I was like seriously NO. I didn't realize he was trying to set the mood! Finally he gave up with the hugging, just got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. I think i said something like 'omg get up! what are you doing' a few moments later 'i have to lose weight first!' I don't think i said yes for an hour. I was in shock.

Re: How'd he do it? SORRY BUT LONG
Its very long so ill try and take out the fillers( whole story is best but here is the meat of it)
FI reserves a dinner place at nine o’clock. Well I go online and peek at menu and the food was way more refined then my palate will ever be. Besides quail, froi gras, and lamb (all of which will never cross the threshold of my mouth) I could not even comprehend their highly expensive menu.. I show him the menu and he looks like I just killed his cat. ::side note:: He likes to find places I have never heard of:: He tells me he is just surprised I looked at the menu as he thought he was doing a good job. We decide to go somewhere else. I suggest the Carriage house in Babylon or the Melting Pot of Huntington. My mom pushes for the Melting Pot. We get to the restaurant a little before nine, the dinner time I complained about in the first place. We have to wait for a table so I, obviously find the bar. I order a drink. First one was good. Who knows what it was but it was good. The second one, I wasn’t sure about but FI convinces me to order it. It was some sort of strawberry-lemonade vodka, gin concoction. Oh wait, I forgot to mention the basil leaves. Not bay leave, not mint leaves, basil. SIX FULL BASIL leaves. If I drink through a straw I start drawing a leaf through the whole. If I take a sip, I am overwhelmed by smell of the kitchen spice in my drink. Clearly I man up and finish the drink because, well, it has liquor in it. I order a third drink just as we are called for a table. Well if you are not familiar with the melting pot, it is all fondue. You cook everything on your own at your table. We order the four course meal which is a cheese fondue with veggies and fruit etc then salad, then dinner, then dessert. App comes out and it is yumm. We’re having fine old talk. He makes some comment about my rings (I wear a ring on each ring finger) and what will I do when he proposes. I tell him I will get one sized and wear it on a different finger, problem solved. He asks what happens if the engagement ring is gold as it will not match, and I proceed to tell him to plan ahead and not buy me gold. (im really not a *****, this is just how we are). We continue to eat, and oddly, I get tired. Im an insomniac so this is RARE. But this isn’t a normal tired, this is a nod my head oh crap I just woke myself up type of tired. I also begin to not feel well. I try very hard to keep a smile on my face as this day has been filled with fun leading up to now. He gets up to go to the bathroom. Apparently I fell asleep in my hand because when he came back, he gave me a kiss on the cheek that scared the living **** out of me. I now feel so guilty but he is being so nice to me regardless. As I mentioned, dinner comes out raw, and you cook in on your own. It’s pretty good, but my stomach really hurts. I tell him I can’t eat anymore and apologize. Out comes dessert. Oh my god I should have been in heaven. It was chocolate fondue (flavor we chose) with a plate full of dippers. Bananas, strawberries, marshmallow, cheesecake etcWell he has hind hand on the table and slides a box over to me and says “Will you be my wife”. Now any normal person would be excited or scream or cry etc. But no, not me. The first words out of my mouth are “that’s now how you ask me” Yes that’s right.
FI- “Will you be my wife?” ME- “That’s not how you ask me”
I am awesome!
He gives me a look and says very cute like, “Will you marry me?” I look at him and say “Please don’t take this personal, Ill be right back” I then get up and run to the bathroom to throw-up my life for ten minutes. Mind you, our table is the far left of the place, the bathroom is the far right. I almost ran out of the place since I didn’t think I would make it. I walk back to the table and there he is, sitting there like a lost puppy since well, he proposes, twice actually, I don’t answer and get up and run away. I sit down and apologize 8926497 times and ask him if he would like to try that again. He first asks me if I am okay and I explain to him that I feel so much better and awake etc etc etc. I am not sure if he was happy I felt better or wanted to kill me. Maybe a little bit of both. Understandably so, he is less then eager to ask again so he just says… “well?” I say yes and take the ring and all the fun stuff. We walk out of the restaurant and he stops me, gets down on his knee, and asks me again. I say yes and he smiles. “Look, now you can say I proposed in front of a waterfall” referencing the lawn feature. He is such a dork. I am then informed I ruined everything. He had this whole set up arranged at restaurant number one that I ever so gracefully declined unknowingly.

Re: How'd he do it?
he brought me back to where we first met
we met when we were 17 at a church carnival lol. so a few weeks before he proposed we were talking about churches we would like to get married in and he recommended the church where we met...i said that was a good idea but we should go to mass there the following weekend and see how it is. a few days later we just so happened to be passing by the church and he suggested we just check it out then. we got out and walked around checking out the church and the grounds and he started reminiscing about how we first met...he pulled me close to him and said he had a surprise for me... i started crying right away because i knew what was coming and was so surprised...he started crying to and finally popped the question and ofcourse i said yes

Re: How'd he do it?
W had planned a vacation to the Dominican Republic for novemeber. The second night we went to a really nice resturant. After we ate he kept asking me to go walk on the beach but I didnt want to since I had my 'nice' shoes on and didnt feel like talking them off and getting my feet all sandy since we had plans to get some drinks. He asked prob 3 times at least I just kept saying maybe tomorrow. There was a flea market setup at the resort so we shopped around for about an hr we go back up to the room to put the stuff back we had bought. He takes me turns me around and says 'I gtot you something' Im thinking maybe something from the flea market (cute in my head is what I was thinking) He gets down on one knee and asked me!! I didnt answer for a few minutes being that I was stunned! I kept saying OMG EDDIE, OMG WHAT ARE YOU DOING! hahah then I finally said of course I will!! Then to find out he asked my dad, mom, brother and my whole family new this was happening even both our friends and his family... IT WAS THE BEST VACATION EVER.
