It's the place FH and I met. I met him at his brother's wedding and it was love at first sight! So what better place to get married than the place we fell in love!
We went to quite a few places. I didn't want something that was very 'italian' as FH put it. Plus, my parents gave me a budget, so the price was very important. Also, Fox Hollow gave us the most for our money.
It was the very last hall I went to see and I was about to have a breakdown if I had to go see more halls, I just couldn't do it anymore. Once i walked in i fell in love with the staircase and then i loved the cocktail hour room, and i love that i come through the floor in the reception room, and the price was perfect.
Although FH and I both come from all Italian families, its not the style we wanted to go with for our wedding. We both love the Old English style and the Fox Hollow was the place that suited our taste the best. (We did look into Westbury manor as well, but we couldn't get the room we wanted without giving a larger guarantee.)
We were getting so much stuff for a great price compared to other RH's..
price and something we could both agree on!! I didnt want something that was typical italian though... I want an italian wedding but not a typical overemphasized italian wedding so we are staying away from certain places like that even if the price is right. We would rather pay a little more and get something we fall in love with and still manage to afford.
we went to a wedding at Flowerfield in October and fell in love with the cocktail room. we had originally ruled it out due to price but we had some connections there and got hooked up a little bit. we are gettin married there and the banquet manager told me my 'aisle' is the bridge over the pond...dramatic enough for me...i'm sold!!
We decided on VIP since we loved the place and how big and spacious it was. We also loved th fact that no one in our families have gotten married there so it would be a new place. Plus I heard great things about the food and service that made us seal the deal and book it. I am so happy with our decision and would not change it
we only went to three halls and when we saw our RH we both fell i love. the price was great, it has a great view, we did a food tasting and it was amazing, we had heard great things about it, and the selling point for me was the mashed potatoe bar!!!!! and the 30 passed hors d'oeuvres during the cocktail hour!
Quite honestly, we had gone to a wedding at Giorgio's and thought the Viennese Table was amazing...We talked about that wedding for two years and how great it was. I also love the rural feel of the North Fork, and love that the wineries are close by.
My number one criteria was that I could not have a stuffy room. I wouldn't describe myself as outdoor-sy in the sense of hiking or backpacking but I am outdoor-sy in the sense that I need windows, natural sunlight, and nature. I'm also a pisces so us fish need water (but w/o the beach). My place blew me away with it's panoramic windows that overlooked the long island sound, outdoor ceremony space, sand to walk on, and great food. I always wanted my wedding to be on a saturday night but we were willing to move it to friday night to get the more reasonable prices.
