HUBBY'S SURPRISE B-DAY GET AWAY..SUGGESTIONS NEEDED!!!
I want to plan something nice for my hubby's b-day get away weekend, I was looking for ideas. Alina told me about the Hamptons, she just returned and my GF and her hubby went to Cape May last July and enjoyed it. It will only be for 2 days. Must drive must be fun, must be nice restaurants, must be romantic. I am taking every and all suggestions.

Shelter Island has a nice bed&breakfast and hotel...the island is beautiful and not commercialized....I love that!

How about Guney's in Montauk - the drive is not long, the place is soooooo romantic (pricey though) - but lots to do!
Or how about Mystic in CT, quaint town, really neat small shops, great seaport, really nice restaurants, not too far (about 2 hours)...
Hmmmm.... I'll keep thinking....

Sure! I can be more specific!! when we go there..we always go to the aquarium, the market, there are boat rides, the restaurants are AMAZING up there. There's always Fenway Park (if hubby likes baseball!), and there's also this beautiful park (I'll have to remember the name) where there are all these fountains...I love walking in there!

I agree with Leelee - Boston is an AWESOME city. Here's a link to what you can do there in a few days: Boston

My all time favorite....New Hope PA! Not too far away, great B&B's, great shopping, and restaruants!

Ooooh, Shamma, if you're willing to drive to Boston, stay in Cambridge at Mary Prentiss Inn. You can visit Harvard campus, Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and you must go for a nice romantic candle-lit dinner at 'Torch' on 26 Charles Street Torch . Also, don't forget to shop at the shishy Back Bay shops, and if you like olive oil, stop by Olivieri and Co. Store.
BTW, I think Valenia lives in Boston.

BTW, Shamma, as far as rating for the Mary Prentiss Inn, it really gets an A+ for everything, including convenient location and great breakfast.

You ladies are the bestest Alina you are right, she does live in Boston, where is she to tell us what to do in her town
Lisa, my GF and some of her friends just went to Hershey to the Spa there and they had a good time.
I am saving this list, b/c when we can't get away for a long time, these are good to have for those quick get aways.

LOL Shamma. Our first Valentines was spent in Boston. If you stay at Mary's you won't spend anymore than the Hamptons. I think Cape May and/or New Hope may be cheaper. I think also you may want to look into Lake George and the Poconos for more budgety things.

Shamma or anyone else going to Boston I have a recommendation for an awesome restaurant. It is called Aura and it is in the Seaport Hotel on the waterfront in Boston. The food is fantastic and the service is excellent. It is expensive but so worth it.
Since my brother is the executive chef there I might even be able to get you a discount.

Shamma,
What about the Poconos? My favorite is Caesars Paradise Stream Resort. Food is outrageous!!!!!!!
and for shopping the outlets are about 20 minutes away.
