Huge Check!!!

My dream venue is booked!!! The Riviera in Massapequa is so beautiful! FH and I walked in and the both of us looked at each other and teared up. Everywhere else that we looked at we had at least one complaint but when we walked into the Riviera we simultaneously went 'wow'. Last night I jokingly told him I loved the venue more then I loved him lol hahaha. As soon as I signed the check for the deposit and then the contract I could feel a big weight lift off my shoulders, I was really bugging about not finding a RH in time lol. Two of my family members were married there, a cousin had a sweet sixteen and another had his sons christening so I know the food is amazing as well. My BM Michelle seems greats!! She seems very lenient about everything, she even included the Venetian hour and a chocolate fountain for no charge which is one of my favorite things. I am beyond ecstatic!! I can breath a sigh of relief but I know it only gets crazier from here!! I am officially a 2012 Bride!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just feel like mentioning that my FH is more into all of the planning then I thought he would be!! Last night he goes:
'How are you going to do your hair?' and then he says:'I know its not up to me but I don't really want you to have all of your hair up, I think you would look beautiful with some of it down'. He ha really been surprising me
So what exactly is my next step? Hahaha I'm speaking to my priest today to give him a deposit for our 'donation'.

Ahhhh thank you!!! I am sooo happy with it but seriously what exactly do I do next? Dress? Flowers? Dj? What was your second step?

My second step was the dress and my third step was Photo/video, I am making my next steps the Rabbi, and florist and dj

Our goal is to have our vendors book before our one year mark so we can save and pay it off

For us, we have the Church and RH booked...now we are on to DJs and Photographers..i hear they book up quickly! My goal is to get most/all of the major vendors booked by April or May.

After we booked our RH, we booked our church then photographer and videographer.
Next, I want to book our dj and florist.

yay! congratulations!!! I'm getting married at the Riviera too!! Its super beautiful there Booking your venue is really a huge weight off your shoulders. After the venue we booked our DJ, the florist and photographer. I think everyone is different though, i think its just a matter of what you feel is important to get booked first.

congrats on booking your venue! i, too, am getting married there, and my fiance and i had the same reaction as you described... we fell in love instantaneously.

as for what to do next... i'd recommend working on things that you need to book specifically for your date, so that you avoid not getting a vendor you want b/c they're already booked. that happened to us b/c we waited too long to book one of our vendors, and by the time we were ready to book, our date was no longer available.

CONGRATS!!! I'm getting married there in July too, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask! Michelle is the BM that I've been working with too and I seriously love her. She threw in so much stuff for us and the whole staff has just been such a pleasure to work with. And the place is gorgeous of course Enjoy the planning, and I'd definitely scope out a photographer next, they book up quickly, then move onto DJ and flowers.
