Hi, I live in the UK but my fiance and I will be travelling to Manhatten in December to get married. It will just be the two of us (to avoid family hassles) with a party upon our return.
Can anyone suggest a photographer, florist and somewhere great to eat after the deed has been done.
If you think I have forgotten anything would be grateful for any assistance.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Re: Huge Cry For Help
Not sure if you are looking for NYC vendors only but we used Cassarinos for photos. They are based in Mineola and Arcadia Florists, they are based in Mamaroneck. I hope this helps.
Good luck & congrats on your upcoming wedding.

Re: Huge Cry For Help
I highly recommend Susan Francy for photography. She lives in Long Island but does many NYC weddings.

Re: Huge Cry For Help
Big thanks to everyone who replied - you are a much more friendly lot than the uk bridal sites!!!!!!!!!
Can anyone recommend a really romantic restaurant in NYC where we can eat in the evening.
In addition, do you know what girlies where to get married at the Municipal Building (I think that's where it takes place). Will I look like an idiot in a proper bridal gown?
I know I sound like an idiot, but these are the things that are keeping me awake at night.

Re: Huge Cry For Help
Have you thought about hiring an officiant to marry you at the setting of your choice? It would cost probably $500 to get someone who can legally marry you anywhere you would like. I don't know anything about the Municipal Building, but there are some amazing NY settings... Central Park for one...

Re: Huge Cry For Help
thanks Valenia that's really helpful. To be honest we are just stumbling around in the dark. Its all totally unplanned.
Seriously going off the idea of a wedding tho - so much hassle of parents! How do you tell them to step back without hurting their feelings?
Where and where are you getting married?

I hate to be negative, but I do not think that there is any way to tell your parents that the wedding doesn't include them without hurting their feelings. The only suggestion I have is to be open and honest about your feelings -- no reason to give them extra things to be hurt about.
Do you definately not want them to attend? You can still have the tiny/unstressful wedding with them as witnesses...

Re: Huge Cry For Help
Oh No they are definately not coming. Both sets of parents are not big travellers and I think that the stress of the wedding will only be compounded by my worries about they running around NYC alone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We are having a party when we get back - just like a reception without the wedding really, so cake, speeches, bouquet toss the lot!
My mum is just driving me mad over table decorations and we haven't even booked the reception hall yet! ARGHH! I am sure it will get better.
