I think they might need the sticks surgically removed from their arses. There is a VERY long story behind this but because I am trying to not bore you to death, I'll give you the abridged version. He basically told FH on the phone that I didn't care what dress fits FSIL and that I picked an inappropriate dress for a girl of her size. MEANWHILE, I picked bill levkoff 966 because I've researched it for a year and a half and have seen that dress on a lot of different body types and it looks good on all of them. I'm so angry that this is what they think of me. I know it sounds so miniscule while I'm typing it but there is so much more to this story.

Do you think this is steming from the issues with the FMIL in NC? or?? wait, they are divorced right?? sooooo, it probably has nothing do with the dress at all. hmmm yes there has to be more to this story!

Well I am very fortunate because not only do I have to deal with FMIL in NC, I also have to deal with SFMIL (step future mother in law) and FFIL and SFFIL (step future father in law). So FMIL in NC really has no connection with FFIL besides the 2 children they had 30 years ago but they each have nasty things to say about each other when I do see them. It does have to do with the dress, FFIL is passing judgement and thinks he is a contestant on fashion runway.

Jess, dont worry about it. My FSIL is a full figured girl and I too am doing the bill levkoff dress for BM. She didnt want to hear it at first about wearing a strapless then she tried it on and it looked beautiful! but....FMIL had to pick out she had a role on her back (because the dress was pinned very tight) and she made FSIL cry and FMIL said well i dont think she likes the dress nor do i!! so anyways i told FSIL i would work with her on the dress but she said she LOVED it and it was her mom making it worse.
So what i have to say is, this is the least of your worries, if she doesnt like it tell her she doesnt have to be apart of your party or find a way to have the dress better fit her(but the levkoff dresses do compliment EVERY body style so dont worry about it)

That Suucks, Jess...especially when you did all the research to make sure it looks good on everyone...

i feel your pain.. fyi thought my sister is a size 28 and stands 5'11'. i have the same bill levkoff dress, #966 and she looks amazing in it. she did have an issue with her upper arms, so the salon is making her a bolero jacket.

Jess I'm sorry you have to deal with this BS! It's sounds like you have been very considerate in regards to choosing a bm dress that would flatter your fsil's body type.
I would ask FSIL in front of your FILS 'Didn't you say you liked the dress when we picked it out?'

Jess sorry they are throwing more crap your way. In all honesty it sounds like they are the type of people that aren't happy unless they are complaining and stirring up drama.

I know its hard but try and just ignore it and move on with the planning.

If you want I will tell them off for you!

I am so sorry to hear of the situation. That dress is probably the most flattering BM dress that exists. What do they expect her to wear?? A t-shirt and sweats???

thank you so much girls, you all made me feel so much better. We actually placed the order for the dress this morning (for all the other bm's) and I sent an e-mail to both FSIL's and told them it's their responsibility to order their own dresses. Thanks so much for all your kind words...all of you

that dress looks great on all body types!!! i basically had the same dress--but without the sash and BOTH my girls are were plus sized---and they looked fantastic!!

he's insane and doesn't know what he's talking about and i think your FH should contact his sister and tell her that if SHE had a problem with the dress then SHE should have told you guys---and NOT gone to 'daddy' to fix it. and if she doesn't have a problem with the dress and its all FIL's problem---then she should have stuck up for your guys and said 'i helped pick the dress'

Thank you for your input, I really appreciate it. I think that the problem goes beyond the dress, I think his father is just a miserable person, and you know what they say, misery loves company. I don't think his sister is involved in this though, I think his father felt like making an obnoxious comment and he passed his own judgement when he saw the dress. FSIL is great and not one to not tell me what is on her mind, we have a pretty close relationship. But if I was reading this and didn't know the background story I would definitely think the same thing.
