Huge time gap between ceremony and reception

My ceremony is going to end at about 3PM at the church (which is the latest ceremony time that the church offers) and the cocktail hour won't be until 7PM. The majority of guests are from around the area so it won't matter for them but I will have a few guests from Suffolk County and from out of the country. Do I have to provide a place for them to go during the gap or are they on their own to figure out what to do? My FH and I will be taking pictures during the 4 hour gap with our families so we won't be able to be with them. What would you ladies do?

Huge time gap between ceremony and reception

I think it's good hosting to have somewhere for them to go, maybe your parents house or you can suggest some places for them to go inbetween. We will be offering my parents and FHs parents house up for anyone that can't go home.

Huge time gap between ceremony and reception

I've seen a few different things in times like this.

1. Organize for them to all go to one specific house like a family members or a friends for beverages and hanging out until they all have to head over to the RH

2. Provide a list of places around the area that are yours and FH's favorite or special places.

3. Organize something thats 'classic Long Island' for your OOT guests. Like seeing the beach or something along those lines

I'm not too familiar with the Swan Club or its location so I'm not sure whats around there... but hope I helped!

Love these ideas! Also, one of the venues we visited had an area where they had little canapes for early guests. Maybe they have something at your venue?
